are we *the place* for anons now? I know 4chan, 8chan/kun, voat and some of reddit all fell for us, is there anywhere else? was there?
🗣️ DISCUSSION 💬
curious. i see some old school people breeze through and talk of the old days, i came in when reddit shut down the_donald.
This site will never ever come close to Voat but it’ll do.
I bet down voters were never at Voat.
Oh yes they were. I made a few comments and posts that got down voted into oblivion.
It was around 2019 … I voiced my concerns about Bill Barr. Holy fuk I got trashed by the echo chamber. Turns out ….
I meant the down votes for joe10jo’s comment. Not in general. I agree with joe’s comment.
And, Barr is just another traitor like Pense and way too many others. Free up vote for the Barr observation.
What did u like better about voat?
Too much pandering here. The posters ruled the roost there and kept it in line {a crazy and jagged line}
This place is an echo chamber for the most part with minor deviations. It doesn't mean it's bad necessarily, but it does mean you don't reconsider things from another viewpoint as often here.
And most importantly, voat users were just a step down from the anons on 4 Chan so there was a lot more digging and research going on with both sites overlapping
But it also takes those older Anons to teach the new. And only a select group of Anons still match things up to drops and such that we Mods Sticky daily. So if you need more digging, then one must do the work to educate. Lead on Anon because Where We Go One We Go All, together.
Well said!!
Great advice old skool anons give to newer anons that is often ignored: be careful who you follow.
The blind faith in sophists is only holding anons back by distracting them and occupying their time.
Can u give an example please.
Yes back then there was a lot more fresh areas to dig. However once a hole is dug, is there a need to re dig that same hole. Yes people can check to make sure that hole is properly dug but do we need to re dig it out. The way I see it back then there were a lot more fresh holes to dig. Not to say there isn't digging now, however now it's more about as the news happens, where as then it was more about as Q drops happen. Those Q drops all brought us here. Eventually though we dig less and start building right? Could we simply be coming to the building phase more and more.
Sure, but there's new people here who don't even know the drops and therefore don't know the research about those drops.
I still think it's important
Free speech no mods
Negative. I understand the sentiment, but we would be over-run by shills and degenerates. I remember when 8kun went without ‘bakers’ for a week and the child porn and gore porn was off the charts.
The mod aspect is important though to keep the garbage out. Alot of the work that has taken place here has been because of the excellent mods here. I don't think that free for all would last long before it gets overrun. Especially a Q focused board.
I think it's about having the right mods. 😁😉
Qrv had a lot of brigading, which was annoying and designed to turn away normies, but it had the assurance of a true free speech platform where important posts even very controversial ones could be heard. Of course now the operation is in a different phase where normies need to be able to visit these boards and not be immediately offended by some brigade posts, so I understand the need for mods although it does annoy me at times
Voat was absolutely and unabashedly for free speech until the bitter end. I intentionally tried to get my account banned for a few years, when I first started, by consistently posting the most belligerent and extreme opinions I could muster. Nothing ever happened. I made a few enemies, at first, but by the end everyone more or less came around and it was pretty chill. This led to A LOT of genuine discussion and research. That doesn't really happen here, anymore, because we all have to walk on egg shells.
If I called people "niggerfaggot" (that's what voat ogs called each other, as a form of comradery/endearment) around these parts, you will quickly piss off the wrong jannie and have your account nuked. That just didn't happen on voat. Not until it went sideways. The point was that the substance of everyone's comments were what mattered, not whether it was delivered politely enough. I remember 4chan tried to raid us, once, and we didn't even notice until after the fact, because they just blended right in lol
