Yes there were. I’ve seen them. The real contention of the Holocaust is the 6,000,000 number. The truth is, the Nazis killed more Christians than any other groups because Christians resisted. This is lost in history. Also, lost to history is the other people groups, gypsies, Slavs, etc., that the Nazis killed off that get no mention in the history today. Gas ovens were used to dispose of bodies that mainly died in hard labor camps. Soviet Russia did the same thing which is also lost to history. Before you disagree, keep in mind that I’m from there, I’m old, and I read through the old history books that Q mentioned.
I visited Dachau concentration camp some years ago. I believe the shower block now has a disclaimer on the door saying that there is no evidence that those showers were anything other than showers.
Also, the famous chimney at Auschwitz was erected by the Soviets after the end of the war and does not appear to be actually connected to the main buildings.
My local hospital has an incenerator. All those amputated limbs have to go somewhere. Now if you add in the fact that many deaths in the camps were due to outbreaks of typhus and that a certain amount of delousing of people and bedding was carried out using Zyklon B and you might start to see an alternate scenario.
We should also consider that the Soviets were in control of most of the camp areas after WW2 and that the Bolshevik high-ups were predominantly Jewish and the books on the subject were written by Soviets. Given all that, you might perceive a possible bias.
I don't "know" either way but I find the less publicised version interesting and not entirely without merit.
What doesn’t make sense to me is why they would use this elaborate Bond villain method of killing humans straight out of Hollywood. I’m surprised they don’t claim they first had to slide down a spike rollercoaster before swimming through an acid vat to get to the chemical showers and ovens.
It’s all so inefficient and expensive in the middle of a two-front war. How would they dissipate the poison gas to go collect the bodies for the ovens? Where were they getting all this gasoline to fuel the ovens? Where were they shipping the ashes? It would be mountains of ash they had to deal with. These are the things you never think of when you’re watching some Hollywood movie where Bond is tied up over some alligator pit. You just think about the danger of the alligators and you cheer for Bond to escape. You don’t think about who’s taking care of the alligators, who’s feeding them, who cleans their water, etc.
When we look at other examples of mass killing in history, how is it done? With elaborate Hollywood-style booby traps? Or do they make people dig their own graves then shoot them? And if they were short on metal for bullets, they could slit their throats. That’s always how it’s done throughout history, aside from this one situation, which also happens to have the Hollywood-style branded name and the lurid James Bond booby traps.
I visited Dachau 3 times. Twice as a child in the early 70s and once when I was with the US military in 1980. I haven’t been back since. I would bet things have changed. I do agree with you about the showers. There was nothing but basic plumbing in the facility. However, Dachau was a labor camp and not a death camp. People died there from overwork and malnutrition. Because of the close proximity to Munich, they didn’t burn bodies there. I’ve been told that dead bodies were shipped out for mass burial. No one I talked to knows where which has been cause for suspicion. Dachau did not have the high death numbers as other camps, and a German history book published in the late 90s did overstate the numbers there, also raising suspicion. I have never visited Auschwitz because its location was under the control of a communist government the last time I was in Europe. Also, I have never talked with anyone who was imprisoned there, so I will not offer any facts or opinions on that location. However, labor and concentration camps were real. Charlie Chaplin depicted one in The Great Dictator which was released in 1940. Also, many US and international media groups wrote about these before the start of hostilities on 9/1/39. Finally, I am aware that the occupying forces kept the camps going after the war for some time. That has even been posted here.
I thought they did burn bodies at Dachau?
I can remember seeing photographs of shoes, spectacles and gold/jewelry which they claimed were from dead people.
The prisoners were relieved of those items at the time of their arrest. They had nothing in the camps. I didn’t see a crematory type oven when I was last there in 1980. This was 35 years after its liberation. Who knows what happened in that time. The German people are very sensitive about the Holocaust and the Bavarians may have destroyed some things that embarrassed them. The Dachau victims I met never mentioned burnings.
I’ll check out the series, but I will call BS on what I know to be false. In my first comment, I clearly stated that I doubted the 6 million figure. I have seen the headlines of 6 million posted here on GAW and on VOAT. I don’t dispute these. I have seen some that go back to the 19th century. It’s true that I was not in any of the camps. I’m not that old. However, I am old enough to have met and talked with survivors of this camp, none of whom were Jewish. I saw actual gas chambers that clearly were not built after the war. I can assure you that at one time, they were functional. You are not going to get me to doubt my personal experience. Again, the lost history of this time is that there are many non Jews , undesirables you might say, who were interred, forced into hard labor, and disposed of. Do you think the Nazis did all their building with their own people and build up the military they did? Q has told us that there’s a piece of history from WWII that is not in the history books. The non Jews in Europe that the Nazis enslaved is one of them and I have personally met people who survived it. They don’t make documentaries about them.

It didn't start with ""gas chambers"", it started with the bolsheviks taking over Russia and then attempting the same in Germany.
Agree. Without Communist Russia, we may have avoided Nazi Germany.
