Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
What do you think about a 'flame thrower' as a weapon of defense to go along with your guns? The one I'm looking at shoots a 25 foot flame. That ought to take out a bunch of Hamas, Hezbollah and all terrorists who would be attacking. I also think it's time to round your neighbors up and get your rural defense systems started. Just a thought. All opinions welcome. God bless.
Ridiculously dangerous. Easy to improvise. Not ideal.
I think I need to go back and watch the movie Home Alone for some ideas I may need. KEK.
It's a close range weapon. Not ideal... and a good way to burn down YOUR castle.
Perfect entry level thing that can be used relatively silently with extreme accuracy is a bow. Compound or cross. Good to 300 feet.
It's ideal for youngsters to learn proper safety protocols and skills. Price of entry is low these days. 50 state legal for recreational purposes.
You always want to be as far away from an assailant as possible and avoid close combat as much as possible.
Yes. I was telling my son about this as I took archery in high school. And it would be a perfect weapon.
There are ways to improvise an explosive charge onto a crossbow bolt using a shotgun cartridge, not the usual way of putting some wax into it but using napalm instead. Not only does it blow a hole straight though them into the person behind them, but it sets their body cavity on fire and a big gout of fire blasts out of the other side into the unlucky SOB behind them.
Its also a good way of making toasted cheese.
Just git yersef some Dragon's Breath cartridges
Like it. Not bird shot though, some 00 shot.
don't turn your back on the enemy.... one shot to the tank and your day is toast!
Only to use in a disclosed safe area.
Mary - I guess it depends on the situation; and where you are. ❤️.
It's a flame thrower so of course I want one too.
But I don't want a bunch of flaming faggots running around my neighborhood or into the woods.
Your first grab should be your gun, but I wouldn't mind a flamethrower as a back up.
A sock full of quarters, is easy to carry, and packs a punch.
I knew a girl back in high school that kept a can of aerosol hairspray and a lighter in her car in case she needed a flamethrower.
Ooooo yeah.....
Thanks for the sock suggestion. We can't find aerosol hairspray anymore so bug spray will do. Also some mace if you're close enough. But these are emergency use items as I babysit my grandkids everyday except Sunday. 5 of them. Their father/my son doesn't own any weapons due to the curiosity of the 3 oldest boys so I have nothing for protection during the day. I was thinking of ways to protect them when I was spraying their yard for spiders and the bug sprayer and a grill lighter came to mind; which led me to a flame thrower. So I'm open for ideas.
Any household cleaner will work as good as anything when thrown in the eyes. I have a few cans of bear spray around the house, not for bears, but there was this very bad dog up the road a few years ago, he would rush me when I took Sheppie for a walk, I never had to use it. I would not ignite an aerosal can, the flame can go right back into the can. Do you have a small handgun? https://www.bondarms.com/8-most-underrated-personal-defense-handguns-guns-and-ammo/
I watch my grands too, their safety is a huge concern. But I only have 2, keeping track of 5, oh my!! Lol
In January 2024 I will welcome my next grandson Aaron Jr. aka Lil' Satch. He will make #12. There will be no more according to both women. I hope they're cheaper by the dozen. Kek.
