I still have yet to see israel or paliststine flags on houses and cars. More outrage from msm first, then the flags, then china invades taiwan. Please read the script lol
It's a tough call. Standing with cheap shit and claims to real estate or microchip foundries needed to catalyze the next boom. My guess is the world tries to broker the expatriation of Taiwanese infrastructure and intellectual property in exchange for letting China have the region.
Look, stop this war talk. Taiwan legally belongs to China. Multiple presidents and foreign countries confirmed this many times. It is an INTERNAL affair to be resolved by the two parties. Taiwan is not, nor has it claimed to be independent. It is NOT a separate countries. Check history. Mao chased Chiang Kai-shek to Taiwan during civil war. It was put on hold during WWII, with our CIA backing Mao and help from Russia, and Navy intelligence backing Chiang. Navy help move Chiang and army to Taiwan. The US and other nations need to just stay the hell out of this. Saw a pole of Taiwan where more than 50% seem to be ready to vote to rejoin China, (no reference found), but if real, why are we sending arms. We are just trying to start a war there along with every other country in the world.
The Republic of China (ROC) that fled to Taiwan at the end of China’s civil war claimed to represent the entire state of China for decades. For many years, the hustle between the ROC and the PRC in the international arena was about which was the rightful representative of China, not about the separate statehood of Taiwan. When UNGA Resolution 2758 expelled Taiwan from the United Nations in 1972 and when the US government, Taiwan’s closest ally, granted recognition to the PRC in 1978 and withdrew recognition of the ROC, the issue being determined was the identity of the legitimate government of China.
The US government position on Taiwan statehood is ambiguous. The 1972 Shanghai communique states: “The United States acknowledges that all Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China. The United States Government does not challenge that position.” (Emphasis added.) International practice, however, gives a fairly consistent response. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, following a major earthquake in Taiwan in 1999, requested UN agencies to wait for the PRC’s approval before the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and related organizations could send a disaster assessment team to what he called “the Taiwan province of China.” The ROC had to apply as a customs territory called “the Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu” to be a member of the World Trade Organization. The ROC is still unable to gain a seat in the World Health Organization after years of application and despite its largely successful campaign against COVID-19.
Even US courts have treated Taiwan as a part of the PRC when addressing the question of whether the Warsaw Convention applies to Taiwan. In cases from John Lee and Margaret Lee v. China Airlines Ltd. to Atlantic Mutual Insurance Co. v. Northwest Airlines, courts asserted that the Warsaw Convention would figure prominently in the decision-making process because Taiwan “adheres to it,” implying that Taiwan is a party to the Warsaw Convention. In fact, at the time of the adjudications, the ROC had not ratified or officially adhered to the convention, but the PRC had.
nicely written, well researched. I learned a few things. but still does not mean RoC is not a separate government. if they are the remains of Nationalist China, of course they lay claim to being the true government of the rest of China. also, is the un, who and wto the true arbiters of whether a government should be in charge of a particular country? since the communist china has gained such influence in world affairs, ofc they exercise pressure to not have the RoC recognized. regardless, the usa promised they would help defend Taiwan if invaded. giving up on them now would make the usa's word as valid as it is with treaties such as those with our indigenous tribes. also, I will continue to disagree with your point of view. I also disagree with much of the un and the wto.
Thanks for comment. May I suggest you read Nixon's "The Real War". Talks about China and Russia. I came away with the feeling China will wait as lone as it takes to bring Taiwan back into the fold. They don't want a war: it would shut down the vital shipping lane. So my feeling is China will not invade. Odds? It give it a 80%. Remember, it is OUR propaganda that China will invade. IT is OUR propaganda that is stirring up the pot. Just like Ukraine: Russia and China are both saying what are you doing. The 20% I give is if the US pushes the Chinese over the tipping point. That is why I say we/US needs to just back off.
i agree on giving the odds we china won't invade China (what? Taiwan.) but feel it is more 60/40 to 70/30. I just do not like statements out of cjhina warning other countries not to get in their way or interfere. I also do not like china's military build up. if they think they are strong enough, they might just do it. what do they have to lose? people? they have a glut of people.
“I stand with China” will go down as well as “I support Hamas” for the BLM crowd’s public perception.. lol, they already support communism anyways so might as well rip the Band-aid off and get it out in the open.
So many flags to put on Facebook
I will stand with the chinese people, and against the CCP.

Remaining seated. Comfortably. I'm not standing up until I see some foreign troops in my homeland.
