Things are getting strange in the banking world. Yesterday, we got a letter in the mail from Citi telling us that there was some sort of "error" when we rolled some CC debt into an 18 month 0% account.
Problem is, we rolled that over LAST FEBRUARY!
Where the hell did the debt really go for the past 10 months? 🤷♂️
Keep at least one month's worth of expenses in cash.
Maintain accounts in at least two different banks with physical branches near you, ideally using different banking software.
Keep at least some of your wealth in non-currency sources of value such as gold or silver
Keep at least 6 months and ideally at least one year of food and water.
Have an alternate means of heating your house that does not depend on public utilities.
Have an alternate means of providing power to your home that does not depend on public utilities.
Buy an AR-15 if you can, at least 10 magazines, 1,000 rounds of ammo for it, and common repair parts (I like a complete replacement bolt carrier group at a minimum).
They have fixed the accuracy problem with thicker barrels. I've never had any reliability problems. Like all Rugers they run weather you clean them or not.
I'm not going full doomer over a single, relatively small and relatively new, bank having online account access problems for the second time within a month. When it happens to multiple banks simultaneously and doesn't just knock out online banking then we'll have some dots.
We just have to make it through 2024. If something bad happens it will be fixed. Still if we can plan for 1 to 2 months we will be okay. I don't think we will need 2 months but we really should think about the others in our life that may need help for the couple of weeks of real problems. If that even happens

Hodl then stack more.
Can’t access your accounts use our internet coin … if they try this, this will be the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen out of the banks.
Practice self-reliance by doing the following:
40 round magazines
60 round Magpul drum magazines! I have one, they're not so great on load bearing equipment.
Those drums jam up
Mini-14 and you don't need any spare parts.
Maybe they've improved but they did not have a good reputation for reliability or accuracy 20 years ago.

And that's a very good feature in a combat rifle.
