My daughter had 1 day of homework . It was one piece of paper with four math questions on one side of the paper. It took her 10 minutes to complete. She was amazed that she had homework for the first time. My point is, our education system is broken. Get the fing unions out and the fing government. Give our children their education back. EVERY CHILD HAS BEEN LEFT BEHIND. DEI, in a gross libtard utopia of ignorance and incompetence. When you want to force equal outcomes for everyone this is what you get. Idiocracy.
1st priority: abolish the Federal Department of Education. I'm 71 and a "product" of the public school system. The DOE was established in 1968. So I went thru public school, for the most part, before the establishment of the DOE. They had local control of their public schools with some "help" from the state.
2nd priority: abolish teachers unions or greatly limit their power/control.
We were at a family gathering recently and some of us were playing Uno. My 7 year old was adding up points faster than his 18 year old cousin. Guess which one is home schooled, and which one wasn't.
I went through a drive-thru for breakfast the other day on my way to visit my mother in the hospital. The price total was $5.36. I gave the girl $21 and she looked like she short-circuited until she typed $21 into the register and only then realized I did it to get either 3 $5s or a $10 and a $5.
I had to travel down to FL to make emergency decisions about my mom and her care, and I had no choice but to fly again for the 1st time in almost exactly 4 years. I already had a bunch of $1s from all the other times I had to eat out - I didn't need any more. The last time I flew I had the highest loyalty status you could earn on my airline and this time I was the lowest elite status (I have 1 million miles flown so I'll always have at least that status). I somehow got upgraded on one segment on my way back but the rest of the time was awful. I don't miss any of the air traveling anymore. I drive whenever I can, but this was a legit emergency.
