I would add Vitamin C and Zinc to the mix.
And Quercetin with Bromelain. And then at the first sign of sickness Ivermectin.
I have never seen my oldest friend sick in his entire life. Not even a sniffle. Ive known him since we were 5 years old in 1970. He drinks a gallon of Vitamin D milk every day.
I'm about 3-4 gallons of whole milk per week during winter myself, not quite as much as your friend but I know my body, I start craving milk when the days are shorter and I'm not out in the sun working or playing. I shook off covid last winter, didn't even know I had it and I've only been sick once this winter but it was some nasty little respiratory flue that got everyone I know and I was over it in 3 days when everyone else had it over a week.
Aah, you named it. When I felt the first sign of sickness coming on, I will add Echinacea & Mushroom immune support.
Since you said you are old, you can live life the way you want. What the doctors ordered might just be "Trust the pharmaceuticals."
Good reminder.
There is an episode of Star Trek Strange new worlds. During that episode, the team is landing on a planet that once hosted Illyrians who were bent on reversing their genetic alterations, but instead became light-beings.
ON the ship people started to get symptoms, like: being attracted to light. After checking the crew, the conclusion was that the people who were Vitamine D deficient, became ill.
Their conclusion? They needed a jab with genetic sequences to combat the effects. The most simple solution was to raise the Vitamine D levels in the people that were sick.
This simple, yet potent solution, has already been found BEFORE the whole covid scamdemic came about. Yet, this was constantly neglected and of course, the genetic jab was the only solution, culminating in jab mandates, which violates human rights.
In terms of rights, you are the embodiment of rights. Think about it. When someone commits murder, the perpetrator takes away without permission the right and freedom to life, which is in your keeping alone. Rape is a transgression against your right and freedom. Stealing is the same thing.
Before our very eyes we see the foundation on which life is founded: freedom and the pursuit of happiness being eroded.
Freedom is an interesting word. The suffix -dom indicates dominus meaning jurisdiction. Free is derived from Frye: a state of being in which one is neither slaveholder nor enslaved to another to ones own lusts, self-reliant, yet willing to lend a hand when it is requested or to offer such when circumstance dictate it.
If we really belief that frase: home of the brave, land of the free, then by all means MAGA means: Fryesland.
Wow. Interesting info skipper. I like what your explanation is. We need to remember that they project on the screen (silver screen) the truth. Sometimes we just need to have eyes to see.
OK med-anons, translate this into mg's. for me. How much should I be taking? (And yes, I also take Vitamin C, zinc and a host of other supplements prescribed by my bio-hormone doctor.
The best way to approach it, I think, is to take a consistent amount daily. Then in a month have your blood tested to check for levels of vitamin d. Then adjust. Once you find your dose you don’t have to constantly check unless something changes.
The fat soluble vitamins can build up in your body. They are vitamin A, D, E, and K. These can be a problem if you take too much.
The water soluble vitamins like C and B are excreted in the urine if you take too much as long as your kidneys work properly.
Thank you. I have to take high dose of C because my doctor told me I need that. D level is pretty good. Never have cold cough, flu or anything.
This depends on where you are located and what kind of work you do. If you work outdoors instead of in an office and you are living in say, Seattle WA, it would make a lot of difference.
Personally, I take 2000 IU from NOW brand. I am in the Midwest. If I live in Seattle, I would go for 5000 IU.
2000 IU is too low. Unless you're like a skinny young teenager. A good default amount for an adult man of normal size would be 10,000 IU/day. Or...take one 50,000 IU pill per week. This is all assuming you don't have the cash/time to start seeing a Naturopathic and get your blood tested to find out where you're at to begin with.
My Vit D blood level was only 16 when I got on the horse in early 2020. It took a while but I eventually got myself up to the 60-90 range that I believe is optimal.
Strange as it is, taking the one 50,000 IU pill once/week, actually raises your levels quicker than taking 70,000 IU per week via 10,000 IU/ day.
But whatever, the important thing is get above 50. Heck, when I got myself from 16 to the 30's, my energy felt soooo much better overall.
Vitamin D supplementation is one of the most important things I ever learned in my life. It is such a scam that our medical community shuns it. 90% Doctors = trained seals.
I went to check my blood level and confirmed that I was just a little low. I cannot remember what the level was but not too low back in summer of 2022.
You got it about 90% doctors = trained seals.
I asked my Naturopathic doctor if he recommend Covid Vaccines. His answer and I quote, "If you are a Democrat, I recommend you take all your schedule vaccines."
Howls.
True, sis who is a garden junky, her Vit D levels were too high by the end of summer, she was outside tending for many hours a day. My Vit D had tanked about 6yrs ago and had been taking supplements every since and have had no problems with flu colds or coof another in my home had a tougher time with it and turned out their Vit D had tanked and has since been as well taking supplements of D. It is good to go ahead and have your levels checked before using Vit D, you dont want to over take it, Sis didn't even take any supplements and hers popped too high, heh. I guess if you dont get a lot of sun exposure and have not gotten it checked yet, a lower dose probably ok but, if you get plenty of sun every day, wouldn't bother unless you got it checked and it was still too low? Donno, just do know, good Idea to know where your levels are at, too much is as bad as too little.
"too much is as bad as too little" ~~ this is what the media pushes out with countless articles. As a result, people get gun shy and take 600-1000 IU's/day which does next to nothing.
I agree that you will get sick if you go crazy taking a ton of it. But I've listened to many people remark that they're not sure they've ever heard of anyone dying from Vit. D overdose. I even heard of someone taking the liquid form and accidently ingesting millions of IU's over a period of time and he got hospitalized, realized his calculation error, and then fully recovered.
Pharma articles constantly scare monger people into small doses because our low Vitamin D epidemic is good for their business.
They do the same with iodine. The RDA is 150mcg/day, that's just enough to keep you from developing goiter. I witnessed a direct change in myself then a friend after starting 6.25mg/day and it only took a couple days to notice the difference. Friend (marine veteran) had panic attacks and depression. He said it was like someone lifted a weight off him.
Hey thanks for the info. I am starting to look into Iodine myself now.
It is not like a drug overdose that would down you all of a sudden, more to do with it affecting certain organs over time, same with most Vit and other systems (adrenaline++, highblood pressure ++) in your body running too high or too low for too long. I hear what you are saying though, low dose should be fine for everyone unless a specific person has a reason to not take it, such as, they run high already. heh. Again, mine had tanked out years ago so they put me on the super high once a week dose for a couple weeks and I have been taking a higher dose since then, I do not go into the dr often but, last checked in the summer and my levels were doing good still.
