Yep, and people seem to really underestimate how much more power a Deputy Sheriff has over a Police. Certainly the Sheriff is #1 on that field in the video.
The Sheriff’s jurisdiction is county wide which includes any cities within the county. The police department’s jurisdiction is within the city limits. Therefore the Sheriff’s department’s authority supersedes that of any police department. AND, to top it all off, in any unincorporated portion of a county or if there is an unincorporated town or city within a county, the Sheriff’s department handles all law enforcement in such areas.
Depends on the State. When I was SD we had a County next to us where the Police Chief tried to pull this on the Sheriff in that County. The Sheriff told the Police Chief he would shut down the entire PD. As the PD was only allowed to operate under the Sheriffs authority. And yes we did have Jurisdiction anywhere in our County.
The County is the true power structure of America. I was once hired as a crisis manager for a property management company - the previous manager was behind bars, 100's of thou$ands missing of other people's $$$, revolving criminal orgs playing musical houses - what the Mil calls a clusterfuck.
So after I identified the tenants that had to go I started filing evictions. And what I found is that when a writ of possession is issued by the court is that it goes to the Sheriff. And it's the Sheriff that comes out to execute the writ. In the city. Not the police in the city - the Sheriff.
My dim bulb flickered and then I remembered - when you read the Constitution one comes to the conclusion that the center of power in America is the County, and thereby the County Sheriff. Police are nothing more than armed political enforcers of city mayors.
This is gonna get good when TSHTF and dirty police officials are arrested by the Sheriffs. In my opinion, this cannot happen soon enough. When the entire police department is shut down you'd better have the ability to defend yourself and your property lest the dregs of society try to harm you. Lock and load, pedes, because it will become a bumpy ride wehn it happens.
Fuck, just cause you have a gun and a badge does not mean you are RIGHT.
I feel sorry for Joe Public due to these law enforcement personnel act like this between themselves.
This was just a pissing contest. Also, I am honestly curious why the Sheriff wasn't running lights at least - he wouldn't likely have been pulled over to begin with and would've gotten to the scene earlier. Kinda like ambulances - they run their lights and sirens when they are not in a neighborhood, but turn off the siren when they enter. Sheriff could've turned the lights off when he was near the scene and avoided the delay. Don't get me wrong - he was right in all this, but he was a tad stupid coming in doing 80+ in a 55 zone without at least emergency lights.
I wish the local PD and the Sheriff's office would've settled it with one of those face-slapping contests. It's not assault if they consent, and nobody gets hurt enough that they have to go to the hospital. It will however make them not want to have to do it again...
This is epic 😆
We need sheriff's everywhere!
As an Aussie I'd love to see people voted in by the people in hopes it would cure most corruption.
Our police system is FARKED!
Hopefully convid made it more obvious but too many sheeple still blind.
Am 90+% sure that a Sheriff is fully within his rights/powers to arrest a Police.
100%
CLEO. Chief Law Enforcement Officer in the county.

Directly under the Attorney General for the state. All elected, none appointed.

Even in law enforcement so many don't know the constitutional protocols.
Most, unless they were home-schooled by patriots.
