This is a good example of lawfare. The whole thing is absurd, with no legal basis yet Trump had to spend time and money defending this at the Supreme Court, not to mention wasting the Court's time. Even the liberal judges weren't buying the arguments from the CO lawyers. It should be a 9-0 decision, maybe 8-1 with Sotomayor dissenting for the heck of it.
I think this will be another boomerang on the democrats. The President will be exempt from the 14th amendment attack but it will come into play for a lot of democrats in Congress and a lot of “officers” throughout the DS.
Isn’t the only path to declaring events an insurrection through the office of the sitting President? And, I believe the insurrectionists have to be identified in the document invoking the act. Needless to say, President Trump dis not invoke the act against himself and the people who were there to support stopping the steal.
But, he did make the mandatory “disperse peacefully” public statement. Makes me wonder if there is an insurrection declaration concerning the 2020 election and the J6 false flag sitting in a file with his PEADS?
Hope so. This drama is just too much. What a movie!
If Sotomayor is a "wise Latina," what does that say for all Latinas. She is a joke.
Key phrase:
Sure we would, t would just be a sham like all of the others since the hanging chad bullshit.
Implying that we have a country right now.
Hint: we don't. It's already gone to shit. It's just inertia holding it together, but not really.
Maybe I’m off base but there is an angle on this I didn’t see being talked about at all.
The Constitution sets the requirements to be President. There aren’t many… (natural born citizen, age 35+, 14 years residency).
With individual states trying to remove Trump from the ballot, that takes the qualifications being set by the constitution and throws them away. Instead we would have 50 states setting 50 lists of requirements. That is unconstitutional and cannot be allowed.
Maybe I’m just consuming the wrong media, or maybe my analysis is off base… cause it just seems too obvious.
What's so obvious is not so for the ill-minded. They come up with all sorts of twisted logic to delude everyone including judges.
Fortunately, still somewhat sane SC judges asked exact same questions as you and are not in alignment with CO lawyer's twisted arguments.
I’ve gotten to read more (I was seeing a lot about Kavanaugh stating Trump hasn’t been charged with insurrection) and previously missed Gorsuch and Kagan (?!?) bringing that up.

Doing literally any other thing exposes them as the criminals they are.
