NO! And it is worse this year with the fake hype than ever!
It is a FOOTBALL game! A test of champions in sport! Yet celebrities and brands which spend big bucks to advertise get more press than 99% of the actual players! Whom I do not also care to hear about.
Then there is the hype about the game parties, and what to buy and what to serve, and the recipes, and how long to NOT leave your food out lest your guests die of food poisoning! I kid you not!
And I am not even paying attention!!
AND for people not interested, there is press about alternative activities while the Super Bowl is drowning everything else out, like Puppy Bowl and shopping deals.
The actual Independence Day the 4th of July, gets a fraction of this attention!

In years past, my late wife and I would go to the mountains and play in the snow, go to the zoo, go an amusement park, stuff like that since everything was empty on SB Sunday.

And yet 99% of everyone still watches, supporting the machine. Can't think of anything else to do. Thank goodness my family is truly different. What a waste of time. Wanting all your sundays, monday nights and thursday nights back. ..lol people actually plan around this. Sad
Plan is to watch Hallmark movies or some such thing to pass the time. Puppy Bowl is always fun, but in recent years its success has gone to its head. The Stupor Bowl is a crock.
Yeah, when it first started out, they had a mock stadium, and they would throw toys on the field and let the puppies play with the toys. If one picked one up and carried it across either goal line, that was a score. The pups also got penalized by peeing on the field. It was a hoot. The cats got to do a halftime show where all they did was play with toys. Great event, the puppies would get adopted afterward. There was a human ref, so if a dog got a penalty, the ref would pick him/her up and mildly scold them, but the dog didn't care. This was just about as funny as the Wiener Dog Nationals or the Chihuahua Races.
Most of the time the dogs would just play with each other, but there were some high-flying tackles and a lot of toy-tugging. My wife and I watch it every year, but when the announcers get to yacking, we just hit the mute button. Fun time for all.
I have my own theory as to why the elites pushed football so hard over baseball (which I was recently made aware has some pretty blatant Masonic symbology of its own). What would benefit the elites better than society pressuring all the strong young men to spend hours a day for years slowly giving each other lifelong head trauma? The science seems to be pretty cut and dry, though anything medical should be taken with a large grain of salt.
The more I think about it, the more I become convinced that this was intentional. That isn't to say that there isn't a place in the world for football and other more dangerous sports, but pushing them through the school system and attaching all kinds of incentives for getting good enough to play for a college was systemic, not just people naturally gravitating to their own interests.
