They can do it. It's basically a bond that can't be touched until after the appeal process. They did the same with that E. Jean Carroll case.
But a two-bit criminal doesn't have to pay a bond. How does that work?
So basically, he's fucked and has to pay either way?
No, the bond, in case of appeal, is like a specially held fund that can be returned to the defendant. So, it means that instead of paying 350M in 'fines',( to whom? ), he can choose to pay 500M into a bank account, with the strong likelihood of getting it back.
OBVIO he ain't f*cked yet.
lol, I wouldn't trust seeing a dime of it again given how they act against him
Oh, yes I'm sure it'll be returned. In 2025.
There will probably be some weird accounting error that makes it inaccessible in some fashion or spends it so they can't return it to him.
And you can be sure, that if that is the case, then Trump will start raising money to fund his very succesful campaign, while his half Billion is in the dock. As you say, he'll see it again, maybe in 2025. He'll be president, then, prolly.
The creative ways he raises money grinds their wee craws a bit more. You see, he has other talents than Real Estate in New York. Just look at the troll-fest that occurred around the recent golden-sneaker event. In 24 hours, they were sold out. (How many units? Anyone know?) They are still kvetching about that, because the sneakers are selling now, for exponentially larger sums https://www.newsweek.com/trump-sneakers-selling-thousands-1871100. LOLOL
They can't even fill a school hall and sell a book to each attendee.
My ass!
Given how stickyfingered these NYC crooks are, I wouldn't trust them with a cent of my money.
'tis true, it is still a gamble.
