I was listening to a truckers' Space on X a few days ago and they were complaining about how hard it is to deliver to NYC (and expensive because of the bridge tolls). So this was not a hard call for many of them. There are plenty of other places to go to.
I don't think it was recorded. It was just a talk on X Spaces. Actually most of the talk was not about a strike on NYC as it was about how the independent truckers are trying to come up with a way to organize but still be independent.
Yes, NJ is really a pretty state - just way overbuilt.
That was from the 19th. I expect a steady progression and then a big hit when current stocks run out. The estimate was around 25% reduction in truck loads, so it will take a while.
I was driving from the city of NY to NJ on Sunday and was disappointed at the number of trucks that were driving into the city. I’m not sure if the post and image is accurate and current.
Even if trucks are driving into the city, it doesn't mean they are delivering there. I-95 heads toward New England and serves Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. Plus some trucks need to head toward upstate and northeastern New York and Vermont.
Now do Cal. and DC. This will soon make NY City into 'Escape from NY' and "World War Z'. Hungry and scared 'zombies' will quickly destroy this liberal/communist slum.
DC is much easier than California simply because they vote for the Democrat at a 90% clip. Besides, the ports of California do serve Hawaii and they need to get their shipments from the mainland.
Also, there is California's central valley and the wine industry that needs to ship product out of state in addition to stuff coming into the US via CA ports. With DC, any given country can just nuke them and it would be no big loss provided they don't get President Trump.
Who suffers? High rise apartment dwellers who can fly in their food? Or the poor? I can understand not wanting to serve these people but it’s the babies that will suffer not the elites.
Gotta love these truckers. You are America

Link? I was actually looking for this info. I drove across NJ and thought about this issue a couple weeks ago.
The bridge and landscape was really pretty where I was.

God bless the truckers and all who support them.

Whoa whoa whoa lets not get hasty friend, I live here and I very much like eating.
Not all of us are lost, don't forget we are here too.
Make sure to stock up, just in case you need it
yes, because DC makes their shitty bed and is never forced to lie in it.
Hopefully these crazy NYotkers don’t come to red places and stay there.
that's what i was thinking. most of us don't want them as our neighbors. they need to stay there and deal with the mess they've made.
Correct, plus they are messing already our states
