Implied in SCOTUS ruling is the Court's recognition that the Left is engaging in obstructive "lawfare" - it's why the majority clarified that no kangaroo conviction of Trump for insurrection would suffice - and it's why the concurrence objected to that distinction - they all see the open lawfare.
π€ποΈ SCOTUS Theory π²π‘
Now there are already promises from some in Congress to refuse to certify a Trump victory. And of course no recognition by those idiots that they would be actually doing the very thing they assert Trump did in 2020. If it's insurrection for Trump, it's insurrection for them.
They keep neutering themselves.
So do we.
Let the fun begin. πΊπΈ
The fact that the Left is stating NOW that they won't even consider his winning shows that they are conspirators waiting to overthrow our Republic, no ambiguity about that whatsoever.
I do believe that's called an insurrection, fren.
For certain!
Awesome! Year of the Boomerang πͺ baby....πΈ
We are getting closer and closer to something, Will the military have to enforce the United States Consitution?
If they refuse to certify, then what?
My question as well...
The electors in each state certify the election results and then they forward them to the house of representatives. The House of Representatives then just acknowledges who the winner is. They don't actually certify anything.
The deal with Pence was because there was election interference. They wanted him to send the results back down to the states. So once the state's certified the results , all the house can do is accept it or not accept it.
If I'm wrong on this, somebody please clarify.
Not answering any questions here but just adding.... I seem to remember something about a contested election resulting in each state having one vote decided by its reps... so basically if a state had 3 GOP and 1 Dem and they voted along party lines, that state's vote would go to Trump. All 50 states vote and whoever has the most wins. Last I checked, the GOP had the majority in more states.
I have no clue when/where this would come into play but I remember the talk about it in 2020.
Do you think they will get all democrats to refuse to certify? They will have to get all dems and some republicans to do this.
Very unlikely. The way I see it they have to say this now to give cover for their future actions. The seeds of revolution are not sown the day the revolution starts. Nor a coup.
{edit}
Good, an actual insurrection the military can put down.
"These people are stupid."
Welcome back, anon.
Welcome back.
Hey, OP. Can you explain where that is implied, or copy / paste that section here? Thanks.
Since the opinion goes beyond just overturning Colorado's attempt to keep Trump off the ballot, and instead explains that only the US Congress can do that, it follows that the majority believed weaponized prosecutors would try to gain a "conviction" against Trump for insurrection somewhere and then states would use that precedent to argue they have grounds now to keep Trump off the ballots.
So the majority knew that lawfare is a thing and they tried to head it off.
And the concurring minority cried foul because they too were acknowledging in their protestations that they didn't want to neuter the prosecutors.
Our SCOTUS is saying they see the lawfare and the conservatives are trying to stop it while the liberals are trying to encourage it.
I see. Thank you!
