They've paid off a lot of survivors mortgages over the years. I'm sure POTUS also donates to them but I don't think he directly paid off her mortgage. Likely he called to give her his condolences. That's something he does a lot for families of fallen LEOs and military.

The people of the United States are by far the most charitable in the world. The World Giving Index has Americans donating 1.44% of GDP to charitable organizations. In second place is New Zealand at 0.79%. . We give almost 10 times by GDP what the liberal utopia of Sweden gives at 0.16%.
And in real dollars the difference is immense since our economy is magnitudes larger.
This is why its difficult to understand how the normies have fallen for the 'all our problems stem from white privilege' bait. If we are privileged, we strive to restore balance through charitable giving and we dont do it out of some conscious sense of guilt but an inherent sense of community.

I spoke with some retired immigrants. They have time on their hands, so they thought they would volunteer. They were astounded when all they could do was put their names on waitlists to volunteer. They tried a bunch of organizations. They said that the USA is such an incredible country. So many helpful people.

Not sure. To us, it wouldn't matter. But from the news articles he's NYPD and he was killed in Queens which is NYPD jurisdiction. The port authority jurisdiction are only at their facilities such as the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd st in Manhattan and the port terminals and maybe the bridges and tunnels.
That is proper charity. Note, Trump doesn't take credit or call himself a "philanthropist". He just does good deeds like looking after this poor woman in her hour of need.
