They are quickly losing the 'moral high ground' about terrorism.
And you are losing your bearings about where the "moral ground" is located. It is established by international treaty that situating military forces in civilian structures or venues is an Act of War, being the use of human shields. No belligerent is required to respect such shields. The CLASSIC example is putting soldiers and military operations in a hospital and relying on the red cross painted on the roof to protect you from being bombed. That is exactly what Hamas did with the hospital in Gaza. It has also been the standard approach in Ukraine, whereby Zelensky & Co. can point to Russia as being a "war criminal" when they are the ones performing the war crimes.
Neat trick to create that situation with Palestinian leadership established by...Israel.

It's well documented that Israel provided funding for hamas from the beginning. You admit that but try to squirm out of taking responsibility. I don't see genocide on the part of palestinians. I see israel claiming the saying "from the river to the sea palestine will be free" is evidence of genocidal intent, which is ridiculous. Last years attack was an obvious false flag blamed on arabs, the same as jews have perpetrated many times: the king david hotel, u.s.s. liberty and 9-11 for some major examples.
History is replete with plans and plots that unravel and go out of control. What we have is today, and today Hamas has cheerfully committed mass atrocities, with the support of its supposed population. Whether or not there is anyone in the Israeli government implicated in the attack is a matter separate from what to do about the attack. Any and all malefactors should be captured, tried, and sentenced accordingly---but the terror-genocide gets no such pass. The slogan arose from a time when the objective of Hamas (and its predecessors) was the complete extirpation of Israel and Israelis, so white-washing it will not work, either. "The jews have perpetrated..." is simple evidence of your own anti-Semitic outlook.
What makes you think this is blowback and not a careful plan like when israel slaughtered americans and blamed it on arabs? The smartest thing that Iran can do... is to put together an entire fleet of aid shipments for Gaza, and demand that U.N. observers review the cargo and accompany the ships in delivering the aid and distributing it to the people of Gaza.
Iran should then coordinate with both the U.N. and with the Red Crescent to have aid personnel, U.N. or African peacekeepers and Doctors without Borders to have ships accompany the Iranian ships into the Gaza ports, and to distribute aid and medical help to the people.
That would upset Israel to no end. It would take the distribution of food and aid directly OUT of Israel's hands. It also prevents Israel from striking the Iranian ships, because there will be U.N. observers and outside NGO's present. It would also create an area of non-aggression (no Israeli troop retaliation) due to the presence of U.N. peacekeepers.
Never respond to someone's aggression in the way they expect and want you to. Always respond asymmetrically. Do precisely what Israel DOESN'T want.
If Iran really wants to grab Israel's attention... then work internationally to have an international response to the "crisis".
Ask China to have representatives, perhaps diplomats or even provide a few aid ships themselves to Gaza. Ask Turkey to provide some aid and help with the distribution. Iran could ask African governments for assistance. Get a small international flotilla coming in to Gaza with aid. Have the U.N. inspect everything to ensure that it is all non-military aid coming in... but don't let Israel play any role in distributing it or helping the people medically, or providing security. Have Lebanon and Jordan help out. :>)
Something like that would embarrass Israel and isolate it further... and would put an exclamation point on the embassy attack.
