Has anyones dogs been acting loke they are on crack today? Ours has been panting, pacing, whining, and jumping up on us all day. Our vet found nothing out of the ordinary, but then said his are acting just like her. Maybe after effects of the eclipse somehow winding her up?

well.....i have owned dogs for 60 yrs....i don't own a leash.....dogs can hear your heat beat a football field away.....my dog/past dogs go everywhere i go....work/bars/travel/friends houses....etc.......i have always said......if you can't raise a dog....don't have kids
I'm in NC. One of our dogs was barking like a lunatic for about thirty minutes tonight and I couldn't get her to stop. I checked a few times and nothing was there. She's sleeping in her bed now, finally. I noticed when I took my other dog out for a potty break a little while later that a neighbor's dog down the road was going crazy, too, and that dog rarely makes a sound. Interesting...
Any new electronics in the house? Some electronics make a dog whistle like sound that humans can't hear.
This was when she was at work.
You in an earthquake area? I've heard dogs can detect upcoming quakes even days prior.

If this were my dog I'd be running out to get bottled water, batteries and any supplies that may be needed in the short-to-medium term. The worst that can happen is that nothing comes of it and I've got extra supplies.
Our dog as ben acting strange before and after the eclipse. She has excellent hearing and will just stop and look up at our skylights.
Where in the states are you? Our dog is lazy as hell since the eclipse! Just wants to lay around, he is normally active.
Southwest
Animals sometimes show unusual behavior prior to an earthquake. You say you live in the southwest. Are you in an earthquake zone?
I don't think so.
Dutchsinse predicted an earthquake in OK, TX, Ark sw region of borders. I’m in SW ark very close to where he is predicting. my cats are being weird but Dog is unusually just wanting to be inside and close to us. That is a change in behavior per se as he is a livestock guardian and generally never wants inside unless it is storming. Cats are acting very skittish and jumping at everything though. They are normally just chill cats…
I would say so, the eclipse.
I left my dogs at home when I went down the hill to watch the total eclipse, I have too many trees around, and I wanted nothing to block the experience of totality. When I got home my old dog was trembling, she did not get up to greet me, which is unheard of, she was just laying by the window and shaking. The day later she was pacing a panting and could not settle for hours. Her blood sugar was normal, her pain is controlled, I thought it was the eclipse. She is fine now, once it went back to regular drizzly and cloudy Vermont weather.
Yes. We have four. They're all acting like that. Been yelling at three of them all day.
Take it for a walk
She went on her treadmill for a while and she's the same. She also goes to the shelter with mom every day for work. She is not lacking in exercise.
The beginning of the week my female shepherd went nuts in the middle of the night for no reason two nights in a row, like there was someone at the door. Last night back to normal, so, I got no idea.
One of my Belgian Malinois has been hanging off the couch and panting all evening.
German Shepherd for us. Our vets Malinois have been the same.
