Just finished the season. Spoilers ahead so fair warning. Pedictive programming contained nukes, cannibalism, elites, and cults.
Background: Nukes are dropped. Some citizens evacuate cities to fallout shelters created by a corporation called Vault tec, to escape, live, and re-populate the earth.
Take a guess who strategizes dropping the nukes and for what reasons. All reasons we here are familiar with. Interesting the faction exposing the truth behind the lie is called New California Republic. New California also trying to recover cold fusion tech.
Edit: i never played the game so I don't know how much the series story jives with the in-game story.
I want to watch this series since I played FO 1, 2, 3 and have yet to play New Vegas but everyone says you can skip 3 and play NV if you are pressed for time.
New Vegas is far better than 3 anyway, it's the actual sequel to 2 and was written and developed by many of the people who worked on 1 and 2. It also has a crazy amount of branching in it's story where the side quests actually all tie into the main plot rather than in 3 where most of the side quests have nothing to do with the plot and are easily missed.
New Vegas is so awesome. They have reloading benches and different types of ammos bro. You truly are missing out just beware of all the glitches kekekekek. The Divide is the greatest add-on ever imo.
Most of those glitches were long ago patched or there's mods that fix them. My mods are still up on the Nexus site.
Kek im so lame bro. Only played on xbox360 and ps4 lmao. 🤣. Still waiting on my son to build a gaming pc. Hurr da fuck up son. He was talking like he wanted to then got all frugal and responsible n shit. I AM proud of him, i guess ol evil jo just fucked everyone up. Also made us better somehow. Thanks jo. Fucker.
The game is over 10 years old, it'll run even on a coal-powered PC at this point.
Unfortunately our pc is wood burning.
played the games. episodes have great production value. Lucy has awesome eyes.
I made my way through episode 1. I never played the game so I didn’t find it particularly interesting. Thus far, similar, but way better is “Silo” on Apple TV+ for all sorts of reasons.
The production value of “Fallout” is great. It’s just not resonating with me.
On a separate note, once you figure out what is going on in “Homelander” it is such a turnoff.
Spoiler Alert (sort of, I’m being vague on purpose and not giving away too much)
Homelander shows the “good guys” to be actual bad guys. “Q” is prominent in a negative way if you know what to look for.
I watched season 1 of The Boys, which has Homelander in it. I stopped watching after season 1. But yes, look like "good guys" but are actually "bad guys".
Did they make a separate series for Homelander?
It's having a Superman (American hero) masterbating and showing him drapped in the American Flag. Their is all sorts of Mockingbird bs going on. To drive the point home they keep having him jerk off in multiple scenes. It's disturbing and ment to damage your cognitive awareness, your thought that America is good is now damaged. This image shows the hero as a vile human being. Thus America is also a country of debauchery and not worthy of your patriotism. This Is an attack on American values and sensibilities.
No, I just forgot the name of the series. “The Boys” is correct.
Lots of callbacks to earlier games. But, a lackluster endeavor. I liked it but the story is weak.really weak. The characters are fun, I like Maximu's road to redemption. This is the Flynn we deserved in Star Wars. But we got the message bs. Lucy is awesome, her naiveness is refreshing and I loved it. Aftermath survivors look at her like she's an alien, Hahaha. The Ghoul is awesome as well. Not a nice guy not even a little. Each character has their own driving force. So the let down is the events and special encounters. The game designers could write circles around these hollywood hacks. Weak, weak, story. Nonsense ( vault 4) nonsensical storyline. A waste of good material. I believe Amazon will cancel the show. IMO. weak world building weak story.ham fisted pacing.
The character development and quality was decent. Didn't dawn on me until you pointed it out. I'm so used to looking for predictive programming ever since joining frens here 🐸. Y'all trained me well.
I never played Fallout, but I did play the original Wasteland back in the '80s.
Wasteland 3 is a really enjoyable playthrough. Choose your Characters Wisely. There are some sites that have some ideal builds.
games are made by the same folks(bethesda) that do the elderscrolls series. gameplay is simular
Bethesda made 3, 4 and 76. New Vegas was made by the folks who made 1 and 2 and only published by Bethesda.
Obsidian
ah ok, got it. i was more of a metro guy because they also did the s.t.a.l.k.e.r. series
addendum. i say bethesda cause the game play was simular between oblivion & the 1st fallout, & they both came out about the same time. but ultimately didnt care for fallout and i had instaled the elderscrolls construction set & was making mods
Starting with 3 the gameplay is similar because it's the same game engine as Oblivion.
i am anxiously awaiting S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2 but imma gonna need a 2nd job to build a decent gaming pc to play it
You basically described the backstory of the games from the past 25+ years, none of that is new except mentioning cold fusion which is never called out in the games but probably exists since microfusion cells are battery sized.
Q. Whare did ghouls come from?
Ghouls are basically sentient zombies who are created from long-term radiation exposure. It's never been explained why only some people get ghoulified while most just die from the radiation though the Forced Evolutionary Virus that creates things like super mutants and other monsters might be involved.
https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Ghoul
Ghouls can eventually lose their minds if they are exposed to too much radiation over time. While it does boost their healing factor it also causes something like dementia and they can go feral.
Thanks for the recap.
Vault corporation... makes me think of Vought the evil corporation from The Boys.
Did they drink Nuka-Cola?
I saw a Nuka-Cola machine, that had the Nuka-Colas in it.
Yep. Saw the cans lol
Edit: not cans, sorry. Bottles, therefore caps.
Cans?
Not bottles?
I'm not sure now. I saw the machine and assumed cans and can't recall scenes with either cans or bottles. I'd need to watch it again, but probably won't.
Is there a nuka cola significance?
Nuka cola is a fairly big component of the in game experience within Fallout. Its also a background element that’s been there since the beginning

Ah ok. Makes sense with the caps, therefore bottles. Thanks for that. I'll edit my post.
