Relevant. I'm going through a divorce unfortunately but my wife doesn't work and still drops my son at daycare every day unless he is sick. She doesnt even go to the gym or keep the house clean which I feel like is the only reason you would want to use daycare sometimes.
Meanwhile I temporarily have visitation while I have a great job and used to take care of him mid day regularly during my work hours. It's a wild time we live in and these women are a special kind of self centered.
And of course it goes both ways. There are women bragging about being sahm and then getting screwed with no income or work experience.
It's a risk we unfortunately all have when choosing a partner
Preschool is exceptionally heinous, in my opinion. The concept claims that parents, who have just taught their child how to speak a language, are incapable of teaching them how to read and write the same language. Please tell me which adults are incapable of showing a child how to add two and one to get three or read and write the words "I am."
The government wants your kids in day care and preschool in order to subvert your authority. Don't comply.
My kids were at home with me until we could afford private school. Then I worked part time to have my own sanity and some money. Basically I raised kids, he earned most of the money. BUT, we never bought a bigger house and still have the same one. When it was paid off (we never borrowed against it) we were able to buy a small house behind us by getting a small mortgage. This allowed gardening in a big way! And our daughter rents that house and it’s like a compound.
I think we are able to save bc of these decisions. Also, we drive old cars. I’m very happy to say I’m happy with my choices and I’m married 40 years and we aren’t 60 yet.
I don’t know how families can do this now. Our home is 33 it cost 70 thousand and now it’s worth over 300 in a very modest village of 2800 people. It’s stupid. Only one of our kids owns and the in-laws sold them their house. We need a value reset. I know my house could be built today for about 175k. Maybe less.
What a terrible situation for families. Can’t afford to buy a started home.
I TOTALLY AGREE about the car thang...when the Car Ghost paid me a visit on a Saturday at my car dealership where I bought my 2nd hand one ... the car DIED right there in the drive of the dealership...it had -----READY----? 249,000 miles on it!!!!!!!!!

Never spent one second in a day care and my mother was always home or I was at work with my parents.
I can't imagine people letting total strangers raise their kids.
Same. I trust exactly 0 people with my kids and outsource exactly 0 things with my kids.

The most we ever got on a car was a Subaru but my husband has this Miata with 275!
