That kind of equipment line up. Guarantees likely extensive Cartel/Organized Crime Support at Minimum. If we could get a list on just whose homes are being targeted.
If it’s the houses of Defense Contractor Staff and Researchers for private companies. It could hint at organized State Support disguised as Cartel/Organized Crime Support. And the theft of anything else is to obscure their true targets.
I think the headline might be misleading. The items the Sheriff listed are all pretty cheap - gps tag, trail cams, drones etc. Jammers can be had on the cheap too.
Few hundo...... Hell, what if they got a 2 k debit card for coming over.
Maybe well organized and funded but maybe not.... I’m leaning towards not. I think it is a bunch of clever punks whose methods spread easily these days. They get a drone, look for entry points, and see if anyone is home before they hit a house. Then post it on social media for others to see as they flash their ill gotten goods.
Also;
How is the headline / title misleading? Was it edited?
Currently reads:
"South American home invasion gangs are now using high tech electronic warfare jammers, trackers, drones and surveillance cameras. Crime wave continuing in Michigan."
Well, to me “high tech electronic warfare jammers, trackers” indicates expensive and, or military grade components, none of which the Sheriff indicated. But that’s just me reading into it.
These guys may well be sophisticated para-military. Just my hunch they aren’t, and they are just thugs taking advantage of cheap electronics that are readily available. Not sure though.
Not sure it matters - shit needs to be brought to a stop - like now. Good on the Sheriff for communication, when does Nat. Guard step in?
It is alarming - and will likely get worse before better. These tactics will likely spread quickly.
Ah gotcha. I can see that.
I think we're a ways away from needing the national guard.....on the border; fuck yeah!
Well, actually.....maybe in some American cities, from what I've heard.....LOL.....so maybe we do!
I think that should definitely be a last resort; see what state & local police / sheriff can do first.
But they need their handcuffs taken off to fight all this shit.....
Yes, that is the nature of such warfare: it is reduced to the individual, perhaps smart, but not well-funded like previous iterations of projections of power. So, I think that your assessment is correct.
It's not just drones, but also gun-accessories - where the crucial hierarchy-flattening is the adaptation that is possible with 3D printers. The latter is also getting very cheap and open-sourced - so new, useful ideas are out there on the webz, and can be adapted for home-use - with rapid advancement.
By the title I assumed the feds had given the cartels some fancy military equipment (probably still have) but all of that can be bought on Amazon. Drones, trail cameras, Flipper Zero, airtags

This right here. Who is being targeted and what is being taken?

Definitely something to consider, but this is a fact; Never underestimate your enemy. Never.
Better to act & prepare as if they are very well trained, funded, organized, etc.
That way, you can easily deal with them if they are amateurs with toys working alone or in very small groups.

Send they back to their country in a wrinkled flag coffin
Gee, I wonder who funded that 🙄🙄
Many of these guys were trained by the CIA in their home countries.
