When I went to research the album after seeing the cover for the first time on my car’s display, I was dismayed by this too! It was the photo of the album cover, the name of the song, and then the name of the album that did me in.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll search for the tread. I don’t care how many pedes of my age group are afraid to give up their idealistic idolization of groups from our period in time. It is time to expose them all.
It is virtually impossible, to amount to anything in the Musical Industrial Complex, without signing over your soul. But hey, you will be famous, and you won't ever have to work again, until it's time to hand over your soul.
I cannot think of a worse successful band than Steely Dan. They made one good song and the rest sounded like off-key horsecrap. Whenever one of their pieces comes on the radio, I can’t hit the mute button fast enough.
Couldn't disagree more. Aja was a masterpiece all the way through. Apparently a whole bunch of other people also thought so given the popularity. They just have their own style which you may not like. Either way, you are welcome to your own opinion as am I.
That being said, I wouldn't be surprised to find out there are some subversive activities being done by them, don't know anything about that and would oppose anything like that.
Perhaps they didn’t have a say in their album covers? Perhaps I’m over sensitive to what I see when I look at it. What do you think this album
cover represents?
Read below. If it hadn’t been for this forum to ask me to question everything, I am now questioning the intent of a bunch of naked men sitting in a line of chairs. We talk big time about symbolism. So what is wrong with questioning album covers and their intents and purposes?
I did and explained in other comments. I see the album art as a bunch of music executives waiting their turn in line to nail the next unsuspecting young artist/s.
I personally love FM. Bit also so many others. Even the B sides. I think they were geniuses in their transitions and ability to rock so many chords. It is this album cover I have a strong opposition too.
Who would have thought that bringing Steely Dan too light would bring us all to question our perception and each other? Let’s be civil here - I was only commenting on the album cover that seems to be more than it seems?
It makes me sad that now I am aware I can’t enjoy it any longer. And their album cover is so gross. I have so many happy memories of hanging out at the local municipal pool and feeling care free. But! I have a forever lifetime with Jesus in heaven, and that makes me happy. It is hard to give up the things that you thought were cool back then.
The feeling that the music brings back is a happy time for me. But now that I know the album cover is probably a bunch of music pedos in line to rape and harm an innocent child is sickening.
So basically - I am having to give up the good feelings I had listening to the songs that made it to radio and that I enjoyed, understanding what I do about the industry now. It has all been a lie and I am so thankful we are aware and exposing it now.
What's the message behind that album cover?
Music pedos sitting naked in line? In line for what?
What do you take from this album cover then?
I love Steely Dan. I don't want to look into this. 😢 Perhaps I should.
Turned out, I had read that article before, so it wasn't what I thought it was going to be.

You could read about this topic to no end on the Qresearch board on 8kun.
I was similarly disappointed when I not only realized what these things mean, but that it was fuggin damn-near every one of them in the industry.
I mostly listen to music that has no words, now.
But hey, Yanni, Manheim Steamroller, and TSO are prolly part of it, too. There's no escape.
I love all these instrumental also. Especially TSO and Mannheim Steamroller’s Christmas music :-)
We could probably dissect Vivaldi and Bach too … 🤷♀️

Question everything.
What do you see in the Katie Lied Album cover? Dorthy White did that one also.
Don’t know those bands, but if I was still in music and wanted a good thesis, I’d research album covers :-)
It is virtually impossible, to amount to anything in the Musical Industrial Complex, without signing over your soul. But hey, you will be famous, and you won't ever have to work again, until it's time to hand over your soul.
That’s the realty I’m coming to realize.

I love The Royal Scam also.
LOL, SD is like nails on a chalkboard to my ears.
They do have a great sound :-) I like “yacht rock” 😅🤷♀️. But the albums cover speaks clearly to me now.

They never made a languishing 10 minute song they didn't like.
And I get it Pepe! I personally liked their musical chord transitions that were tight and, I think smooth.
It is just knowing what we know now, the album cover completely grossed me out. Even you, as a great Pede on this forum can see it?
What was the good one?
I run hot and cold with steely Dan. Currently hot.
I personally love FM. Bit also so many others. Even the B sides. I think they were geniuses in their transitions and ability to rock so many chords. It is this album cover I have a strong opposition too.
Off key? Lol, that's the one complaint you can't make about Steely Dan
And you listen to the radio... Which probably play the same 3 or 4 Steely Dan songs 100s of times a month.
Well your experience was worse than mine. But perhaps you are older and had better taste in music than I did then :-)
Who would have thought that bringing Steely Dan too light would bring us all to question our perception and each other? Let’s be civil here - I was only commenting on the album cover that seems to be more than it seems?
Well, "Steely Dan" was named after a vibrator, so there's that.
It makes me sad that now I am aware I can’t enjoy it any longer. And their album cover is so gross. I have so many happy memories of hanging out at the local municipal pool and feeling care free. I don't get it.
The feeling that the music brings back is a happy time for me. But now that I know the album cover is probably a bunch of music pedos in line to rape and harm an innocent child is sickening.
No I understand that.
I was talking about the album cover.
You don’t see the symbolism of a bunch of naked men sitting in chairs in line?
What is it?
I could see a while dissertation on album symbology in some awake music Ph.D. There probably is one, and perhaps they failed because of it?
Now that you explained it I do.
Thank you.
