This is absolutely true, but we've also got to be a little careful. When people fall into blind allegiance they can end up trusting men like George W. Bush and John McCain thinking they're good honest men "doing God's work" as so many boomers did in the past.

Don’t hate your accent. My mother’s parents came from Spain to Hawaii to work in the sugar cane fields. Then they moved to California. My mothers’s whole family spoke Spanish & English. They spoke Spanish in the home and English at school & work. I think people should learn English if they want to live in US.
Standing at the gate of heaven, I'm not sure it'll matter if you identify as American, Russian, Argentinian or South African. Deeds & how you treat your fellow man seem like they'd be more important. Just saying.
If you cross the border illegally you get bus ride or an airplane ride, money, free everything. If you apply for USA citizenship it's paperwork and up to 13 years of waiting. Which would you choose?
There is no assimilation with some types of people. Imagine you have a pasture filled with zebras, and you start to let horses in. They may act similarly, but they'll never be the same.
I had a discussion with a friend on just this point as I drive through my neighborhood seeing a big South American flag in someone’s garage. That people who come here should be American and not come to change this land into the shitty place they come from. And that there’s no business in dual citizens in offices for loyalty cannot be guaranteed. (Like tons of politicians being dual citizens to Israel) it’s about loyalty. Always have been
