It’s somewhat ironic. How Hamil has ended up is eerily similar to the end of the only roll most people know him for. A Bitter Old Man who realizes he doesn’t have much of a legacy to leave behind.
Almost all his film awards. Are for either Star Wars. Or voice acting animated characters. Most don’t know most of his movies he’s been in aside from Star Wars. And unless you paid close attention to the end credits of the cartoons. You may not even know he voiced the characters he did.
Oh c'mon! You cannot deny the cinematic masterpiece that is Corvette Summer! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
But seriously, one of the characters he voiced was an evil Senator on the CN show Metalocalypse, spearheading something called Operation Falconback, which was to bring evil into the world to rule over the people (along those lines anyway). Kind of fitting...
He has been a pretty big disappointment once he surfaced again after those Disney movies. I guess I still like Luke Skywalker, if only the character from the OT, but can't say I like the actor. If the franchise survives Disney, the trash they made is kicked out of the canon, and then the franchise is maybe revitalized with some movies where the stories are mostly taken from the better Expanded Universe/Legends novels, like perhaps the Zahn trilogy, it would be pretty good if some other actor managed to make the character his to an extent that everybody forgets who the hell the original actor for that character was. Hamill would deserve that.
The problem is Disney, this glacial monolithic vacuum disnyfied star wars. With all their rules and regulations. It's a bad fit, they want to make a pure male brand into a pure girl brand. They destroyed the hero. Toxic masculinity and girl boss without struggling. Meh, what a waste. Destroyed childhood.
And if there is anybody who can be compared to Obi-Wan Kenobi, it's Trump, not Hamill's "Joe-Bi-Wan Kenobi". We are all in the position of Princess Leia sending the message, pleading for his help, because "you are our only hope".

Remember Luke,

Mark Shamill, Clown Extraordinaire
Hamill wasn’t making much money in acting. The Deep State must have put him on the payroll thinking Star Wars still carried some weight.
