This was caused by a faulty software update from crowdstrike, affecting windows platform systems running this software and silly enough to blind-deploy stuff from that vendor without testing it first.
Would they for example, knowingly break the systems of their clients while making more from shorting these clients stocks than CRWD loses in value? Making excessively more?
Assume organized crime is the motivation unless established otherwise.
I work at a car auction and we have a small satellite DMV to serve buyers and I noticed today they have a sign on their window closed due to outage. I'm in northern Virginia right beside Dulles airport, now that I see this it has been quiet this morning, I'll have to see if I notice any planes taking off
pResident Bidan sticker that say's - ' I did that that ' - works for this. This is what terrorism will look like in the banana repiblic america . built back better
I work in the medical field and can confirm. My department isn’t experiencing any outages right now/yet, but they just “updated” the CT scanner in another department and they’re completely down and the Nuc Med department is having trouble with processing studies.
In Wisconsin we just had this happen. It took paying off the hackers to get back the hospital records and access to the system. Everyone was locked out of the hospital for three weeks. They would not say/admitt to how much in ransom money they paid. But the catholic hospital is now in dire straits due to the ransom.
How about having a proper test environment where all software updates are tested BEFORE THEY ARE APPLIED TO A LIVE SYSTEM?
We live in an age of centrally managed resources where it would be utterly trivial to RESTORE A BACKUP IMAGE in the event something did BSOD or otherwise corrupt a system.
This level of ineptitude is utterly unfathomable to me. I don't even maintain mission critical systems and restore my own environment to working order by restoring from an image and restoring from my latest data backup.
My daughters hospital couldn't afford crowdsrrike so they use something else. All computers on line. 47 percent of rhe nations hospital computers down according to info they got.
this is why i avoid both updates and hospitals as much as possible

"faulty" is too innocent a descriptor...
Fair.

It’s kind of pathetic that doctors and nurses can’t figure out how to do physical operations without a computer.
It's not that really, its needing records when everything is paperless.
Here's two thoughts.
