That would be a rather stupid mistake, but they must feel like their fraud strategy can deliver the results they want or they're looking to shoehorn the Hilldawg in prior to November and then cancel the elections "for the good of the country". Many on the left turned their backs on the party and went for Trump in 2016 because they couldn't bring themselves to vote for someone so evil as she is. Lots of different theories, I suppose.
