This is the way
I doubt it they gave all the illegals voter ID so what good is that unless they really do check those ballots.
Yes Amber!
Paper ballots is one thing, hand counting is a different matter. I think I've voted 3 times since I became a citizen, in VA, I have to show ID at the polling station, but when I registered to vote I don't remember there even being a question about being a citizen. And once you've made your marks on the paper ballot, it goes into a machine for processing and counting. That is where the shenanigans still can happen.
This is calirado crap…you can vote in person…same ballot as mail in. But they go into a ‘locked’ bag and taken to a processing center for counting. I about flipped when I waited in line and wanted to actually ‘vote in person’.
I spoke with the judge…she said fraud has been debunked…she literally said that. I had to leave fast otherwise the sheriff would have had to be called.
Agreed!
Now let’s have our military running the polling place. Pretty sure that would discourage any attempt at perpetuating fraud by non citizens trying to vote.
Yes!
MI here - it's still a joke so far as we await the Plan to play out, but we've proven that counting can be started right after the first hour of voting and not take into the wee hours of the next morning for the "how many do we need for our candidates to win" van full of ballots to show up at 3am.
Add IL too!

One down..........forty nine to go!!!! Let's stir this pot so every governor will yearn to use paper.
We're trying in Texas!
I wonder if that is legal. Conducting elections is governed by law. The governor doesn’t get to make laws.
This is the same thing that many complained about, rightly so, in previous elections in Arizona and elsewhere.
The legislature probably passed it and then the Governor signs it into law.
The Governor issued Executive Order 35. I am against any and all Executive Orders that exceed the Constitutional authority of a chief executive (President, Governor, etc).
The Revolutionary War was fought for many reasons, and escaping the whimsy of Royal Decree was definitely chief among them.
They will still be using computers to do the counting in Virginia via optical recognition. There will be a paper trail at least.
It should have required double verified hand counting like the old days, and the VA Congress should have enacted such a measure.
I agree... it's who counts the votes that matters.
To clarify: it is clear that paper ballots and hand counting is the most accurate and cheat-proof way to handle elections. However, Q said things must be done by the book. It is important that updated rules for running elections are put in place using the proper procedures.
I think it should be harder to cast a vote. I mean look at all the documentation you have to give to get a drivers license or passport. I think that in order to vote, you should .
Be brought into an camera/audio booth with 2 voter witnesses.
Verbally and physically -Give and write name, DOB, county of residence, and who you will be voting for.
Provide your birth certificate and social security # and show the camera and witnesses, and verbally have the two witnesses confirm who the voter is and who they are voting for on camera.
Have voter confirm the witnesses are accurate in who they will cast the voters vote for.
Have all 3 sign off that everything is accurate and true.
It would never happen though lol.
This is a good step forward. However...
There are plenty of ways to queer up an election with paper ballots. How the ballots are prepared, completed, sent, returned, and processed/counted all matter a great deal.
"I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this—who will count the votes, and how." - Josef Stalin
And VA got rid of ERIC. Probably using Fractal. Fractal is being used in 26 states to weed out fraudulent registrations.
