In Australia they are practically giving the coal away to China and in return China gives Australia renewables. No shit, all the coal China needs to be energy dominant, and Australia buys wind turbines and solar panels, as electricity prices in Australia are the highest in the world.
First start by preventing perfectly good coal fire units from being shut down. In Colorado they have a plan to shutdown nearly 2000 megawatts in one company alone. They have already shutdown that much in the last 10 years.
What no one talks about is energy forecasts that predict states like this to be in the hole several thousand megawatts in the near future. Those forecasts do not count EV's and power hungry AI data centers.
Just release the Tesla files. One tower can cover a major city with almost limitless energy.

We have at least one nuclear power plant in Texas that was shutdown. No need to build a new one. Just turn it on.
