I pray every day this is true. Sometimes I feel like I can't keep going. I feel like I'm surrounded by soulless NPCs, and then I think it's me that has the problem, but I just want to feel the same connection to people I did 20 or 30 years ago. You start to feel empty.
We have God and each other and we'll take strength from that until the time that we are called to lift others. And, that time is coming soon.

I’ve never felt like I’ve belonged in this world, always an observer and rarely an active participant.
Would explain my lucky close calls, and how I feel like I’m being protected and guided from danger. Like I have a greater purpose in life and it’s just not my time yet.
So I had this thought the other day but the world needs people to also be observers.
Sometimes the Bar tender, the singer, the man on the bench feeding the pigeons, the people just being passive but aware and thoughtful are so important as well. American culture doesn't celebrate it but we need these people to assess the full story. We need people observing the success and folly of others impartially to provide guidance to others.
The inn keeper saw many knights go to slay the dragon. They all thought they would succeed.
Some people NEED to be Inn Keeper mode.
And it is a valuable contribution that slowly compounds into change by distilling the experience of many and using it to one day guide the new generation.
It is okay.
I appreciate the observers of the world. Do not feel compelled to change.
