Let's face it, if Trump really bombed, then we are probably all screwed.
I am inclined to believe Trump was playing a role. Like another user posited: Strategic Analysis of Trump's Debate Performance Through The Art of War.
I have always been adamant, to tell MAGA voters here not to be complacent, and go voting. Perhaps Trump was aware of polls/models being overtly pro-Trump lately, and the danger of voters taking his victory for granted and staying home? Perhaps his "Art of War" performance, was to get his own voters out of the comfortable sofa, and really go vote, like their life depended on it?
Well, just some afternoon ramblings from my side...
Very good point. But I honestly think he performed well given the ambush he walked into.
But yes, complacency leads to defeat.
This post suggests that you think that Trump didn't do well in his performance last night. I am among the few who have voiced the opinion that it was not his top performance. I think he's right about everything but the gaslighting by the other side was heavy. I hope you are right...nobody should be complacent.
His performance in spite of the gaslighting isnwhat makes it such a strong performance.
Like a guy swimming against a current and still making it to shore
Who the fuck on our side is sitting out the vote? Tired of hearing this brand of dooming.
Evangelicals are known for this. They like to say a candidate is not "pro-life enough" if they aren't 100% against all abortion (and most recently IVF), and they stay home.
I'll never understand that. I guess they don't think about what the other side is for (and will do) - but as long as they can virtue signal then they don't seem to care.
Here is a recent example of this, and I know it's Newsweek so keep that in mind. It does however illustrate what I'm talking about.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the conservative side is notorious for a low turnout. Trump even said, if Christians would vote he would win. I am paraphrasing the part about the Christians, but that was when the media said "Trump says he would fix the elections".
POTUS is preparing the for their next debate.
Art of War.
Yes, that is definitely part of it. Of course we all wanted a crushing defeat of Kamala in our eyes. But he was not going after our eyes. All the flash polls showed a massive victory for Trump.
Trump ate her lunch. A few times her voice broke, she sounded like she was going to cry LOL
He did seem a bit angry last night. Wonder if that was a planned tactic or something else.
He did not bomb for goodness sake. Kamala spent 2 hours telling whoppers, most of which have been debunked and spewing GWB crap justifying WWIII and meaningless platitudes about her plans. Empty rhetoric isn't debating. The lies were so numerous, Trump didn't have time to address it all. And that was peppered by moderators asking him questions like "is there anything you regret about inciting violence on Jan 6th?" Question repeated maybe 3 times.
As usual, he did a damn fine job against way uneven odds.
I did not say he bombed! It was a hypothetical, that if he bombed, we were all screwed.
Mea culpa. There has been so much negativism on the board, I read the first line and had a knee jerk reaction. So sorry.
