In fact, most other countries have exactly that rule.
Foreigners are never allowed to own land. They can buy upper story condos, but not the actual real estate. It is actually quite ridiculous that the US allows this when the vast majority of other countries do not.
And "most popular" motel? I've always associated Motel 6 with Roach Motel... low standards, often in sketchy parts of town, not the type of clientele you'd want in the next room, drug deals in the parking lot, etc.
Bingo! And that was true 25 years ago! I filled in for a shift at a motel 6 as a security guard when their regular guard got arrested for fighting with the druggies. Security Brach manager asked me if I wanted to switch to that post... LOLZ, I was working at a nicely run Ramada Inn that was safe!
Not quite. I knew many hotels were bought by Indians from Asia continent. Motel 6 specifically was for dog-friendly motel but you know they don't like dogs, right?
I will no longer go to one because I don't like their management. I used to go there because they were everywhere and I travel with dogs. They are well known for accepting dogs.
The Gurgle machine says there are around 1,500 Motel 6 locations in the US. And my handy-dandy Gurgle calculator claims the $525,000,000 purchase works out to average $350,000 for each location.
Sure seems cheap. Even for the shabby rundown Motel 6 locations that already reek of curry.
No foreigner should ever own a scrap of American land
We the People should own it all... time to end Communist businesses by mass nationalisation
Notice Blackstone? I believe it's the same as BlackRock.
Same company IMHO
Totally Communist
Yes. I thought it was Blackstone and purchased or merged.
Yep they are related
Apparently, at 30 years old, Ritesh Agarwal owns 120,000 hotels.
Somehow he seems like a front man for someone else.
They always have a front.

Inevitable in a Communist system, I'm afraid... everything that can be for sale, is for sale.
In the future American Patriotic Republic, we will smash Communism by:
Land will be recognised as sacred, and will be held by the We the People
Basic resources will be held in common and distributed to those of the We the People as they need them
Huge Communist corporations will be broken up and their assets given to the We the People
I read somewhere that there are like 5 or 6 countries where you can buy property as an American.
I don't know about Motel 6 being "America's most popular motel chain".
Honestly, I'd rather sleep in my car.
LOL
This.
To be fair, I always figured Motel 6 was run by Indians anyway. It’s not like they’re going to somehow invest less money into it.

They already own all the Days Inn motels don't they?

You know it's BAD when pajeets start buying up US companies...
Sauce for youngsters
Reminds me of:
Manger 6
Bob Rivers parody.
Howls. I no longer go there now.
Red Roof Inn and there's another one La Quinta all accept dogs.
Let's hope they go Bankrupt overnight. They are going to fire all American workers and parachute in Indian salve Labour.
