You should see what they do with multiplication, division and subtraction. They are either doing this because they want the kids to give up on learning or they are doing it because the teachers are so stupid they actually dont know what they are doing.
It's because the teachers are stupid & lazy and are following the Divine guidance of the Teachers Union on how to totally fuck up a child's ability to learn or think for themselves......
This crap just started when I was towards the end of elementary school. I'm pretty sure it's to make everyone equally slow. Making everyone draw out individual sticks basically makes it impossible to be "good" or "bad" at math as long as you're able to literally count. Only problem is it takes forever and no one is actually going to do it in the real world. It also seriously screws people up later on.
I would say the goal of this nonsense is to intellectually handicap the younger generation so that it's too weak and stupid to resist the cabal's tyranny... it's not that the teachers don't know a better way to teach.
The internet caused society to start to awaken to the cabal's shenanigans so now they have to try to turn back the tide of increasing awareness... they have to try to create the society depicted in that movie Idiocracy.
I know not every family can homeschool, but it's so worth it if you can swing it.
And if not, find a microschool in your area that has parents who think like you do. Essentially do group homeschooling for 4 or 5 families together and control the curriculum yourself.
Putting kids in public school is just not feasible at this time.
The Good and The Beautiful homeschool curriculum is free up to fourth grade. So far we love it.
This is insane. Show kids to add in the a convoluted and complicated way. Little wonder why the USA falls ever behind in education compared to the rest of the world.
Wasn't Obama and his teacher union minions behind all this common core horseshit?
Common Core war clearly a direct attempt to sabotage the kids. It is an act of war that targeted children.
There needs to be real justice for this and vaccines. Jesus does recommend appealing to God for justice.
I am kinda hoping the justice looks like the story of Jezebel.
Eliminate the Department of education.
Do your mafs peasant!
Crippling America, one policy at a time.
A prime example of why you are a scumbag is if you are aware and aren't homeschooling.
Also you are a scumbag if you find this out when your child has been in school for a week.
You need to be in charge of your children's education.
I suggest home school. I don't know of one place where you go to buy something and the cashier can make change without the register telling them how much change to give you back. Last time we went for a burger, the bill was something like $27.32. I gave the girl a 20 and a 10 and she put it in the register. I then gave her the 32 cents and she was so confused I had to take my 32 cents back and take the change the register told her to give. They cannot do basic math in their head.
I worked in restaurants and I always taught how to count change and not rely on what the register said. If you punch in the wrong amount tendered the change will be wrong, too. Happened at one place I worked and the mindless cashier gave the customer $200 back instead of $20!
It's not hard. Start with the amount due and count up to amount tendered. If you get coin that means the customer wants just dollars back, i.e. $27.32 becomes $27.
I also taught double counting to ensure accuracy. Count it once as you take it out of the register and again as you give it back to the customer. Easy peasy!
Yeah I honestly wouldn't know what to do either without a calculator or something
They have to dumb basic math down to the point the Education majors in college can "teach" it.
I used to teach elementary school. I can confirm that they do teach this way. However, they also teach the “traditional” way as well. They teach other ways too. The goal is to show multiple ways to problem solve and have students “pick” the way they like. I know, I know…
Well that should come in handy when those kids grow up and are part of work teams that have to produce real things, on time, and under budget.
Oh wait. The Education Major teacher's union members aren't preparing kids for that, but for a lifetime of DEI government sinecures.
I used to hate it when my kids were placed in a team in school. My kids weren't lazy and got good grades. Normally they did all the work and the lazy kids just coasted. I use to ask them if they expected that every one got paid the same once they got out in the work world. They are living it now in their late 20s and they hate it when someone they work with doesn't contribute.
Really interesting point, and good for you as a parent, teaching them to feel resistant to being expected to haul the load for those who refuse to haul it for themselves. The difference between charity, collaboration, and state-forced welfare wasn't taught to all kids!
"Team" projects were in my experience a labor saving method for the teachers. Guiding 30 individual minds is a challenge. Overseeing 5 teams where the smarter kids do the teacher's job--that's 6x easier.
It's also a way for the teachers to dilute the smartest kids and drag them down.
Its funny you say that because both my girls and I could read at four. My son seven. When my oldest daughter was in kindergarten she was in a "day care" ran by nuns. She spent 1/2 the day in kindergarten and the rest of the day in the day care. I found out the kindergarten teacher would gather the kids in a circle, put my daughter in charge, give her a book and leave the room. Needless to say, I was not happy! This kid was in charge of a classroom full of her peers at 5. Whats funny is that daughter became a teacher.
I'm glad your daughter had you as an advocate and reality-checker. Some moms would bask in that and brag about it, and not consider what an imposition on the child it is.
The idea that it's up to schools rather than families to teach basic skills is one of my pettest peeves. But that turning-over of children to the state is so deeply seeded and rooted at this point, among so many people....
