Yes. It can be amplified and amazing things can happen through it.
Through righteousness, or practice, or what?
Through the presence of the Holy Spirit who comes to those who have put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I've used the advice from that passage hundreds of times, and when sincerely and humbly meant, my prayers were answered EVERY time.

The key I believe is God’s will and submission to his will. I too have seen the extraordinary. I do believe however it requires true heart alignment with God. This is the without doubt part. No doubt IN the Lord.No doubt that he will care for your needs and consider your request, no doubt that whatever he chooses is the RIGHT choice. That is the hardest part. As I prayed for my child in a coma whose life was dependent on doctors there was nothing else I could do. Through that prayer I was at last able to submit my will to God. I had to give my child back to the Lord and take my will off the situation. That included being ok if God called him. That was an ugly crying submission. One that took days. At the end of that submission 30 minutes later the surgeon came out and told us he had finally succeeded. Four surgeries 3 days in a coma. Literally the most difficult thing I have ever done was giving back what wasn’t mine to begin with.
When I was going through the worst time in my life, I felt angels very close. And I didn't even have to ask for a thing out loud. If I had a thought of something I needed, it happened. My ask was "help me". And He did.

I've been running into a lot of age discrimination everywhere I go.
Ask and you shall receive but ask it with faith. Nothing happen without faith.
I'll say a prayer for you, fren. But remember, it's always on God's timeline, not ours. So He may answer today or next month. Believe me, I struggle daily with the waiting.
While you are looking, you could always tutor. I do a lot of that and stay pretty busy. I found students through Grade Potential and through local schoo counselors.
Ask for His will to be done in your job hunt and be willing to go wherever He takes you. You can never go wrong when you submit to the will of God.

Fun fact, I’ve been Christian my whole life, but I came to my faith through an atheist. Weird how things work.
It cool if you don’t believe in God. He still believes in you. In truth I prefer an honest atheist over a hate filled church goer. The person who sits in church with hate in their heart can hurt a lot of people. So can hateful atheists but at least they don’t claim to represent Jesus while they do it.
As I say, “I care not what you claim you believe. I care only how you act.”
