More to this story - Boeing and the Union were in negotiations - Boeing offered what would amount to a very large pay increase PLUS a $6000 per employee "ratification" bonus for agreeing to the deal - Union pushed for more - Boeing pulled their offer 2 days ago and now announces layoffs. Lesson: Pigs get fed, Hogs get slaughtered.
Maybe it was a play behind the scenes between the union and boeing to seem as if they were trying to be generous. Intentionally giving a good deal knowing the union would turn it down, allowing them to layoff, while still "showing face." I'm sure they union still got paid
The politicians destroyed the auto industry. Working on doing the same to airplanes. Here comes China to take over. That's the real end goal. Selling out to China. Everything else you see is smoke and mirrors to create a narrative.
Space X is being delayed by any means necessary to stop their progress. Every day they delay space x is an extra day of profit for the sea container, train container, commercial airline and all airline shipping are basically walking dead.
Elon is building electric trucks... but they can't go a long range.
Build space X pads in regional area's. Drop down a booster... off load automatically to electric trucks to ship local to towns near by.
Methane. Plus Electric probably generated at the launch/landing site since those sites will have lots of space. Methane production could also produce electric power with reduced carbon output.
Multi launches per day... longest flight is 40 minutes. Average flight is 27 minutes from any spot to any other spot on the earth.

I don't know of any union that does what's best for its members....

Which employees were axed to leave?
DEI cleansing.
Or should be.
Doubt it. The dei people will clock in on Monday and be useless
I just want to know what question they were "axed".
That would trigger an EEOC class action they don't want that'd cost way more than just letting them lamp
They might just be getting rid of all their death ray designers and killer space robot engineers...

Hmm. 17,000. There’s that number, 17, again.
Laid off? Vote Trump, he will create real jobs!
Commercial air travel is the new train travel.

SpaceX shipping will make any other shipping look suspicious. Cutting off a YUGE amount of the supply for children.
Kek that image...
But Boeing won't need so many people when Trump wins. He will pause forever wars during his administration, so less weapons to manufacture.
