Yes this is why when I go to vote I dress as nondescript as possible. When I went to early voting I wore black and grey and gave no clues to my affiliation.

The whole situation was wrong. Everybody here messed up. The guy shouldn't have even worn the hat, unless its legal in his state, and the workers should have been calm about it and not assaulted the guy. It's just an example all around.

I remember when I was in civics class in jr high school, it was said to not tell people who you vote for, I always wondered why then, now I know.

I couldn't wear a candidate hat in Texas, but they allowed me to wear a shirt with an eagle that say Caw-Caw MotherF××ker! The rules are stupid. They allowed that but not Make America Great Again. How in the hell does it make sense? And no, the xx isn't on my shirt. It's spelled out for the world to see

You can wear whatever the hell you want as a private voter in any voter booth. It doesn't approach 'electioneering' unless you start talking to other people.
21 states don't allow apparel, pins, etc in voting areas or within so many feet. I posted the links with all the states rules. Right or wrong is debatable but law is law in those 21 states.

I miss that era of time when men took hats off indoors. And women. And when no one wore face diapers.
For my State. Poll Workers are required to ask prospective voters to remove the article of clothing. Whether it’s a shirt, hat etc. If you refuse to. Provided you haven’t gotten physically or verbally belligerent/aggressive. That’s the end of the situation and the extent of actions they are trained to take. You won’t be prevented from Voting.
About the only thing they draw the line at. And will get Local Law Enforcement and Elections Officials involved with. Is people setting up signs, or people from standing around and actively Electioneering and badgering voters in line in favor of one Candidate, ballot measure or amendment within the 100 foot perimeter
