I'll try and be brief. My spouse, who I love, was "thinking about (and may have)" voting for KommieLa as a reformrenda against the Republicans and because he doesn't believe T is a real Christian because he said in an interview he doesnt believe in confession and can't describe his faith. One of the reasons my spouse disagrees with the re'pubs is their policy on the boarder and their acception of a man/T with bad character: -he cheated on Malania -he paid Stormy (dont get me started on this one) -he plans on using lots of tariffs
Ok- i think the reasons are b.s. BUT I think the root is that my spouse believes Trump is a fake Christian (the irony is not lost on me....so Trump is a milk toast Christian...at least he doesnt kill babies and celebrate sexual dabachery)...
Ok, so the ask: does anyone know any pre-political career statements Trump has made about his faith? Videos would be great. I think anything after his presidential run would be dismissed as pandering to Christians...i mean i'd still take if it is a strong statement ...i am trying to build a case that T may be a flawed Christian but still a real one.
Any help/guidance/tips would be well appreciated!!
Thank you!!
I'm sorry, I don't have any pre-political stuff for you but my two cents.
It might be helpful to note that King David cheated and lied. Abraham didn't always follow what God said. Paul killed Christians. Peter disavowed Jesus. Even Mary and Martha did not always do what God wanted. Etc. The Bible is filled with imperfect Christians.
And the Bible also is filled with non-Christians who do the work of God without intending to. Cyrus. Pharaoh. Pilate.
So, I guess my statement is, we all have to assess and weigh the good and evil because no one is perfect. I happen to believe that the good of Trump outweighs the bad and vice versa. Whether or not Trump or Kamala are REAL Christians. EVEN IF Trump is a fake Christian, it would still be possible for him to be doing the work of God. Trump stopped wars and brought peace. He stopped child traffickers more than anyone before him. He wanted people to have a choice whether or not to take an experimental shot. Etc.
Oh! That is good! I had brought up David (hubby said, "well he repented") BUT i did not think of the non-believers God used. Nice! Thank you!
How does your husband know Donald Trump hasn’t repented? Does he know him personally? So that can’t be a valid excuse or an argument.
Also Paul was Saul - he was literally hunting down and killing Christians, but God chose him. He has salvation, so why can’t Donald Trump?
Also… Why does somebody have to be a Christian to be our president? Of course, we would all like that, and we think it would align with our values… But voting for somebody for the only reason if they’re Christian or not, doesn’t make any sense. Especially when the only other person to vote for is literally a demon in a pant suit.
He says because, "Trump keeps denying it" re Stormy...and I was like "because it didn't happen" to which he says "but a Jury says he did" and "why did he pay her off" A) dirty cohen paid her off (b) she denied it way before he was president (c) jurors were vetted for a TDS bent...dirty jury pool and dirty judge ...which he won't believe because he can't imagine how corrupt the world is...
If he’s already made his decision about everything, why is it so important for you to change his mind? Why don’t you focus on building your marriage on things that you do agree on, and bye and serving the Lord together in one way or another?
You'd need more context, but it goes to his reasoning and integrity. And I am not trying to change his mind, I am trying to get him to critically think since he gets most if his information from X
Maybe Joe M's The Plan to Save the World? Short video but effective.
I am sorry that some have chosen to judge your reasoning rather than to give you help that you asked for. Please watch the video that someone posted on this site a short time ago. It is our President Trump talking about bringing the Bible back to America which we so desperately need. I don't know of any other President to speak about God and His Word like he did in this video. Imo it shows the great heart of a very great President.
I appreciate that. Yeah, the judgement ...weird. "Boo don't encourage your husband to critically think, you controlling hose-beast" ...mmm....right.
Anywhoo, thank you for the tip! Do you happen to know what the video was called or some words I could use to search for it?
Edit: nevermind - I found it!! Thank you, again
Oh, for sure. Yes, I asked him that. He said, if any atheist was pro-life he'd vote for them. It is like...if someone says they are a Christian, they should Mmm like..."look like it". A big difference between he and I is he comes from a long line of churchianity. He worked at a church for 10 yrs. His mom directs sunday school as did his grandma....I on the other hand was a little bit of any and everything then had a radical encounter with Jesus and the scales came off my eyes about the world ...including the derp-state. He doesn't believe in what he'd call conspiracy theories. He also doesn't care about end times etc. To be honest, I consider him to be a sleepy christian BECAUSE of the background in Churchianity.
Y'all have given me some good leads...i'm pulling some notes together and will re-engage sometime this weekend.
You got off better than I did! I compared Trump and King David and his infidelity and he said “Don’t you dare compare him to David in the BIble!!”
The pulpit summary of the above is that God uses imperfect people to complete his perfect will. I always liked that one.
It is the business of no earthly Christian to determine if another is a christian. His lambs know his voice. Simply remind your wife its above her pay grade to be worried about trumps word about his faith.
This.
I knooowww, I have. I've called out how he has given so much grace to others irl about their Christian walk and he'll say "I hold the president to a higher standard". (Sorry for being vague before...i am female, my husband is who I am speaking about, no worries)
No worries, im the ass who umed :)
But Kamala is even more morally corrupt than anything Trump has done. My husband has said I don’t think someone who had an affair should be leader of the country. My response was you are dating him or marrying him. You are picking the best person to run the country and there is so much more that we should be concerned about. (And Kamala was the mistress of Willie Brown, so is a supposed mistress really any better than a supposed cheating husband?)
Consider what he says in this video. I’d love to see videos of other politicians openly calling Jesus the savior of the world and telling the story of the Bible. I don’t recall Kamala, Biden, Hillary, … doing anything like this.

Thank you! What a lovely video! I will share it (though I think he may see it as Christian pandering...which is why I was hoping for pre-political footage). Thank you, again!
Matthew 7:15-20; 1 John 4:1-3; Revelation 2:2 are good passages to read.
Well you could always ask your spouse to go on a hunt for Christian Kamala videos... 🤣🤣
Bwaaahhhhhh Ok...that is a good one lol
Instead of trying to prove that Trump is a Christian, ask her to explain this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyjtpt3fGfg
Or the fact that she refused to show up at the Catholic Al Smith dinner.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XI0MUoW28VE
Also ask her how can she be a Christian and support a candidate that supports abortion?
Or how can the better Christian candidate support transgender(satanic) surgeries for inmates and illegals using tax payer money?
Tell her to do some bible studying as well because clearly the notion that God picks flawed men to carry out his will onto our realm is a thing.(Cyrus for example)
The notion that Trump has to be this saint in order to vote for him falls apart when he is facing off against a demon. Every Christian alive should support any person who is fighting against demons, let alone fighting for the Christians as well.
Ask these simple questions to your wife and see what she says.
100 percent. I asked him to explain it to me, I said: "How could you even consider voting for someone who 90% you disagree with and openly supports sin VS. Someone you 10% disagree with and may be a weak-but-trying Christian"
And he said, "I can't explain it to your. We just have different priorities"
Tbh we argued about this last night and I was actually trying to understand him. I asked, "I am trying to understand how your faith and values mean anything to you you are willing to bite against them to "prove a point". Like how to you say to Jesus "I voted for K, who wants to kill babies because T didn't prove his faith to me" help me understand..." And he said "good luck with that " and hasn't spoken to me about it since.
He had been supportive of my support of Trump so, I was surprised by his...mild to moderate TDS. ... I suppose I feel the need to share with him how I see this flawed but well intentioned leader...
There's a video on YouTube with Judge Joe Brown "Is Donald Trump a Racist?". It doesn't mention whether Trump is a Christian or not, but it does speak of his character. He also exposed how Kamala had an affair with a married man and that's how she basically got her career off the ground and into the right social circles. But yeah, your husband holds the president to higher standards...
Thank you! I'll look it up!
I thought of you and your husband when I saw this:

Oh, that is super cool! Thank you!!!
My pleasure, fren! Kim Clement also has videos on rumble, YouTube, has a FB page and website (which I will provide a link to below). He had a very interesting life: born in South Africa, turned to drugs (heroin) and alcohol, and as he lay dying, he reached out to the Lord...

"What is better; to be born good or overcome your evil nature through great effort?" - Paarthurnax, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
We are ALL flawed Christians. None is without sin. Your sin is no worse than my sin. Jesus will take care of liars and cheats that do NOT repent. Tell him to get off his "high holier than thou" horse and pray for his own forgiveness. He is using 'man-made' rules to judge someone when he doesn't know THAT persons soul or that persons relationship with the Lord. Also, tell your spouse...That GOD has used MANY MANY 'non believers' to do His bidding. Cyrus, Nebuchadnezzar, Paul (Saul) to name a FEW! What Trump SAYS really doesn't matter, actually what he believes doesn't either, just that the Lord IS using him. God Bless
Absolutely. OP, I know you love your husband and you want him to see the truth. I have learned the hard way that we cannot walk anyone else's faith walk for them. How many of us have had to defend ourselves against the "Trump is your god/savior" accusation? Maybe that's the idea your husband is resisting falling prey to, which is a good thing. But he has to realize that every person's relationship with God is theirs alone, and that includes him! How would he like it if other people tried to judge his heart? The best thing you can do is model that for him by not engaging his ideas about Trump's spiritual status, which is only God's to judge. Stop trying to convince him. Pray that the Holy Spirit will speak truth into his heart and believe God will work according to His good will. Then let Him do what only He can. That will be more effective than anything you could possibly do.
While reading your entire story the only thing I could think of was your husband saying:
"I voted for Satan because I don't believe Jesus followed his father God closely enough at times".
How can anyone think that Kamala is even a Christian, let alone a better one than Trump? It's like voting for the devil, to spite a Christian who sins. 🙄
Trump is the ONLY president EVER to be at the pro-life march. He openly acknowledges God saved him. He started a bible reading club in the White House when he was there before. He prays with the evangelicals, doesn't tell Christians they're at the wrong rally. Get over it, we need a rough guy to fight the commies.
Tell him TaQo said he might have to turn in his man card...at the very least, he will have to wear a "White dudes for Harris" T-shirt for an entire week...in public.
Bonus points if he just so "happens to be black" 😂😂😂
Matthew 7:15-20 - "You will know them by their fruits"
John 8:7 - "Let he without sin, cast the first stone..."
We are all flawed, we are all human. Remember, God is always waiting on US to reach out and speak to him, to walk with him and be in his grace. I do not believe that Trump has always walked in the grace of god but, I believe that has changed dramatically in just the last part of his life. I feel that Trump now understands the grace of god through his son Jesus more than many people who claim to be "this religion or that" and continue to live in the world and worship "the latest thing" instead of the everlasting, never changing, true word of the lord. Being "nice" is not with the lord. Being KIND however is. Nice is seeking brownie points from others while being Kind is something from the inside out without care about what others think of you, only that what God would think of you. Trump is not often NICE but, he is Kind though, he is tempted from time to time to lash back at those that have taken aim at him first. It is Kind to insist that your child not take drugs and prevent them from it even if they are having a tissy fit acting as if you are ruining their social world.. Nice would give the excuse to the child.. oh they feel better while taking the drug, just let them have it, dont be mean, everyone else is doing it...
Ask your spouse to re read the bible (you should do it as a family even), many cases of non believers even that the lord has used And cases where people who thought they believed but, did not truly understand until the lord humbled them down first by allowing them to go through trials of anguish. What ever path is taken, please do not allow the disagreement between you two to divide your relationship! Trust in God and have faith.
You are right, I agree. I keep this in heart and mind.
He has been very good to me and my love for Trump (though he did roll his eyes when I hold him I bought Trump Red Wave shoes lmao). I prob feel more than he does about this because, well less so because he doesn't like Trump and has mild TDS but more just the math of it: how could/would he rather vote for a demonrat than a 'jerk'- like a demon's values don't speak towards their character.
Please look up the story of President Trump's mother's Bible. It is a great background story of the man who was to become 45th president. I believe it has all been covered in the responses here that we are all flawed Christians and none of us deserve God's Amazing Grace. Perhaps President Trump is not as outspoken about his faith because he is in the limelight so much, but the book of James tells us "show ne your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my works." We are not to judge a man's heart as to whether or not they are saved, but we can judge his life by the good things he has done. If one is unsure of President Trump's faith, then pray that he will be enlightened to know God's eternal plan of salvation. Remember but for the grace of God as those who have trusted in His completed work on the cross, where would we be?
This is great! Thank you!
Really, aren't we all?
For real.
I heard Trump just committed his life to God during his first administration. After that choice, he held prayer in the White House every morning.
Kim Clement prophesied that a man who was not a religious man would be God's man in the White House and would become godly.
Plus, God's hand has to be on him. Otherwise, he wouldn't have worked a miracle in front of millions of us by saving Trump's life.

Perfect reasons to vote for anti-christian heelsup kneepad Kameltoe Ho. ....
To be fair, apparently he didn't know about her home wrecking ways in California.
I'm sure you are, but just an encouragement to be in prayer for (and with as much as he will do) your husband, your own heart and the way God wants you to deal with this and for your marriage. Love above all politics 🥰
Thank you, Fren!
