While GAW is high as a kite over Gaetz's nomination, there is a consideration we need to think about:
While Gaetz is Trump's first pick, he's NOT Trump's final, or real, AG pick.
Gaetz's Trump's first low-ball offer to the seller when negotiating deals, something Trump has plenty of experience with. When making deals, you first throw out an extreme number that is the absolute minimum or maximum end that you are willing to go with, and the opposite side will do the same to you.
Then, the you and the opposite side will negotiate down to a medium that hopefully satisfies you and your main objectives.
Gaetz, while our ideal man for the job, might be considered to be too extreme to do the job effectively (and I don't think GAW nor Truth Social had him in the list of seriously-discussed AG candidates, so it clues us in the fact that his nomination is a complete surprise, and potentially not that serious.) I bet that Gaetz is there to make the final AG choice Trump has seem more tame in comparison.
Of course, Gaetz could be sworn in normally, which is still good for us..
And with regards to the talk about Article II Section 3, my problem with that possibility is that I don't think that route has been tested and proven to actually work without significant and real damage backlash that WILL harm the MAGA movement. Plus, it might give the enemy the green-light to use this tool against us if they succeeded in seizing power from us again. Also, the only source of this notion is "though a writer", which holds as much water as "anonymous sources" or "sources close to the Trump Administration", which is absolutely no water.
Sounds like a rumor to smear Trump again.
The specific persuasion technique is called "door in the face" and it is Trump's preferred style of negotiating. I only have pause the fact that Gaetz tendered his resignation, he didn't wait until being confirmed, and he did this so another candidate can take his seat in time for the presidency.
Recess appointment were used by a lot of previous administrations, so it's not like it lacks precedent. We all know they are going to scream from the rooftops no matter what Trump does. I've become less concerned about it since more and more people have tuned out the screaming and they don't have narrative control anymore.
Doubtful that Gaetz can be confirmed by the Senate (which will be required eventually). I think Trump is just trolling the Dems and that Gaetz will end up being appointed by DeSantis to fill Rubio's vacant Senate seat instead. Then Mike Lee will be confirmed as the AG.
I’m just watching the show but wonder why everyone is trying to outthink the G.O.A.T. Gaetz is definitely his first pick and has already resigned his congressional seat so they can’t use the fake allegations against him.
So I see it…confirmation hearing he is confirmed by vote OR JD Vance takes his seat as President of the Senate, gavels in a recess and Gaetz (and anyone else they refuse to confirm) is a recess appointment. Trump isn’t fooling around this time, he’s not playing their games. It will be his way. Enjoy the show!
I don't care what extreme tactics are used to get the job done. We will have FOUR YEARS to change things. After that 1. Vance advances to Pres. or 2. the dems get it back, but if things go so well for America, would people really want commies in power again??? I just want the first four years!!!
I'm hoping the demonrat party will cease to exist long before 2028, never to sully our government of-by-for the people again, due to disclosures. It's time the remaining sheeple get broken free from the matrix; it's sad seeing them so utterly brainwashed like this.

recess appointment
Recess appointments still need confirmation eventually. There is a deadline for that which may be far enough out for Gaetz to do the house cleaning and then someone else comes in later to do the rebuild.
The law on this is ugly. The person receiving the recess appointment can serve up to the end of the session of that CONgress (there are 2 sessions in each CONgress). However there are time requirements that I don't fully understand, some of which could mean the difference between a year and a 2 year appointment. Then there are rules if the appointee has actually been denied, and even a rule that allows the POTUS to put them back in on another recess appointment. There are also rules that can allow CONgress to deny their pay (so the appointee would have to serve for free).
I gave up on trying to figure the whole thing out. It was clear as mud. I just figure he can serve 1, or maybe up to 2 years on a recess appointment.
Remember in 93, Clinton forwarded two AG nominees who eventually stepped down for some minor scandal until we got Janet Reno. Shortly after she was sworn in, the first raid at the compound in Waco took place.
Mike Lee was the first choice, Matt was on the flight to DC with Trump..Matt told Trump if you want someone that will clean house, "I'm your man"
2 years is plenty of time for that. How many rinos will get bagged for crimes before rhat.
I think it is for the hatchet work needed.
Recess appointments seem to be a theme. Of course that could be a diversion and Trump is negotiating.
A theme dating back to George Washington...
I’m sure Trump has back-up picks for every slot in case they don’t make it.
Don't kid yourself. Gaetz is 100 percent Ttumps pick and he has several legal ways to make nit happen no matter what the left thinks.
Kash for the finish?
Maybe their hoping Gaetz confirmation hearing will give everyone "confirmation fatigue" and then all others will cruise right in
Since Rubio is a member of the Senate club, he will likely be confirmed as Sec of State. This will leave a Senate seat open in Florida and if Gov. DeSantis holds off on appointing a replacement pending Gaetz approval as Attorney General, this will put pressure on the Senate to approve him. Senators, especially republicans, would much rather have him as AG than as a disruptive member of their Senate club.
yes I think this may be the plan! Gaetz comes in and drops bombs and tears the place up, 2 years later he leaves and runs for FL Gov, then Desantis is appointed AG
I think you're operating on the old system and still don't believe that strategy about perception has been thrown into the trash yet. The whole perception game was played by Trump in 2016, and that ended up as a shitshow with the concession made for hires who made optics look good ended up stabbing him in the back.
