Are they even real employees or are they placeholders that the deep state uses to fleece taxpayers out of millions of dollars? Show me the 86K IRS agents. They should be beating down doors all across America looking for extra nickles and dimes for the IRS coffers. Yet, they are nowhere to bee seen. So these new federal employees are not real, but their paychecks are being direct deposited into congress critters bank accounts. Plus, who do you think will ever audit these agencies to prove up the employees even exist? Congress???? hahaha.

The Feds outsource and subcontract a metric shit load of work.
It’s a legal labyrinth all on it’s own how tightly or loosely “Government Employee” can be defined and stretched.
As by some definitions I’ve seen. Subcontractors and Temps can be counted as a Government employee. Even if they’re technically employed by an 3rd party and only doing Government work for like a couple hours. And the rest is being spent on other contracts/work.
You can rest assured though that the Contracting company is probably billing the Feds like their employees worked 40-50 hours a week though.
It’s a big thing in Ireland too. It’s always coincidental that the Agency that supplies the workers happens to be an ex politician or a relative of a politician.
Also the amount of fees spent on “expert consultants” is shocking. My city spent €650k on outside consultants for a bus corridor plan. The plan was rubbish and didn’t pass a vote, nobody wanted it.
We have an entire department of town “planners” who didn’t contribute to this. About 60 people drawing a wage.
Was anyone held accountable? No.
Were the consultants paid? Yes.
This is another form of corruption.
It’s amusing in a depressing way that we seem to have trapped ourselves in a self-reinforcing cycle.
Many forms of Modern Western political thought in general nurses a dislike and perpetual suspicion of all forms of Government. Including some schools of left-wing thought. In particular the Democratic/Republican institutions we’ve largely chosen to organize our societies around.
Viewing it as a necessary Evil at absolute best. And the people who seek office. Or Government employment. As being inherently corrupt, incompetent or somehow deficient in some moral and ethical aspect that they couldn’t hack it anywhere outside Government.
So we chase off the people who might actually be beneficial in Government employment or seeking elected office. Due to cultural biases and poplar culture dictating those beliefs. Often outweighing any sense of social or civic duty people may feel towards their society or fellow citizens in that society.
Leaving us with primarily the exact people, barring few exceptions, that reinforce the pre-existing biases being the only ones who actually want to serve in Government or seek Office. Because they can fleece Government budgets for Millions and already feel no real responsibility or loyalty, or desire to develop those qualities, for a people or society that resents them anyway for their chosen form of employment or the fact they sought office.
The postal service tends to hire some seasonal people. They're probably 85% of the 6% of feds who show up to work on a regular basis.
Ha. Another 52,000 people will loose their jobs in about a month.

This is exactly the problem we have in Ireland, a massive civil service, growing by the year, creating BS regulations to justify their existence.
Almost every country in the EU is told what to do by the bureaucrats in Brussels. So they are effectively another layer of red tape and cost.
We could replace 99% of them with AI, web forms and public oversight.
Over 25 years dealing with civil servants, the vast majority are borderline retarded. Most are corrupt, manipulating their schemes for personal gain.
