This former marine was acquitted of murder or manslaughter charges for defending a subway car full of people from a black man maniac threatening to kill everyone. He choked him out but the guy later died at the hospital. Not sure why.
It’s a shame that the drug-induced, indigent homeless man lost his life that day. Too bad the city of New York has been more worried about taking care of illegals instead of their own homeless population. BUT Penny absolutely did the right thing. Lives were saved that day. Period.
The other people around him. The ones the druggie was scaring the shit out of. Those people. Penny didn't just walk up to some random person and decide to put them in a choke hold.
Did you also miss that that poor needs help criminal had been arrested numerous times prior for assaulting people? Yep, poor lil dude - maybe if the idiot criminal system there had done their job and imprisoned him for one of those crimes, he might have gotten some "help".
I agree that its a shame that this guy wasn't getting the help he needed or if he needed incarceration, that's fair. But it doesn't justify the (seemingly intentional) killing of the man. It was essentially an execution. This whole thing reminds me of the series of scary clowns that were killed in the news in 2015. Most people might not remember but there were news stories about scary clowns being seen and killed (just for being scary) and the news casters and people being interviewd seemed to have no questions about whether these killings were justified. It was assumed it was justifiable self defense. I actually suspect that those stories were fake (coms).
Because he killed a mentally ill man who was not a serious threat by chocking him from behind without even trying to talk to the man. He continued choking him for over a minute after the man went limp and people were telling him to "stop, you're killing him!" I live in oakland and take public transit all the time. It's dangerous and all kinds of shit like this happens all the time. But, nobody kills the dude. He went to far and I consider it criminal. If the exact same thing would have happened on our local train system (BART), I likely would have stepped in and physically stopped Penny from killing the victim. And, another thing to point out, since you ask how I can say "he's not a hero," Penny himself said he's not a hero. So, take it from him. But, I'd go farther and call him a killer. He didn't know if the man was having problems from a medication or anything. He had absolutely no concern for the man he killed and has not expressed sny remorse. To put it simply, heis not a hero because he had no respect for the value of another man's life. What would Jesus say about it. Jesus would agree with CurtKobain.
The real crime here might be that nobody offered the starving man a sandwich. Everyday I pray God shines his righteous light into the darkened hearts of this world. Today, a shall pray for all of my down-voters. God bless.
No, but there's video and I've seen it. And, I've seen witnesses detailing the situation. I'm familiar with it. But, the crucial part is in the video. The crucial part, from a law and order point of view, what penny did after the man went limp, the train was stopped at the station with doors open, and people said "you are going to kill him," and, "stop." Following that crucial moment, he immediately went from 'good Samaritan' to 'willful homicide.' He chose willfully to kill a person. Homicide.

Sorry, not sorry. The guy was a violent person and was being abusive to others around him. Had I been there, I would have been on Penny's side.
