This doesn’t only apply to people being deported, it applies to all Americans. I’m not sure how I feel about this. In one aspect yes it helps the police to be able to do their job without interference, but then the other aspect is it impedes citizen journalist from reporting the truth? Not all policeman and first responders have the best interest of Americans. This is a slippery slope.
Just a few short weeks ago, we saw a policeman walked by a woman burning to death on the subway in New York.
Almost all new legislature is a slippery slope--by design. It's almost always introduced to counter a current 'problem' or to help a certain demographic, but the end game is usually far more sinister or overbearing.
Lefties would get rid of the law as they are anti police. Say whatbunwant but I've lived where there was little law enforcement and it was a crime ridden shithole.
I live in Polk County Fl. He's the sheriff here. He's amazing. Not gonna get away with stuff like you do in NY, CA, or any other libtard state. 25' is not that far away.
An extremely useful law is coming to Florida on January 1st. It will be just in time to further help with America’s mass deportation efforts under President Trump’s administration.
I agree they are not our friend but they are needed in some instances. And people are becoming more and more brazen. It's a crazy worldwe live in now. We have to be careful. Everyone needs to be careful. Even the police.
it's bad, imagine if the bird flu pandemic gets traction adn they try the lockdowns again. They going to arrest people that get within 25 foot of the cops trying to enforce the lockdowns?
Thats what we need. I did the job and never mistreated people. I once got questioned by a prosecutor for mirandizing a bad man 3 times. I want people to know their rights. If they legit bad then they get held accountable.
yep, I think they try to keep doing right here in my neck of the woods. My uncle was the pervious sheriff. He let me learn my lesson and didn't interfere with what I did. Only met one asshoe cop. Hope to keep it that way. Those that are thug need a new profession. After some jail time
I hate this. Cops will use it to keep citizen journalists and Cop-watchers from filming regular police encounters.
The only way I would be remotely okay with this is:
if It only applied to officers and agents with body cameras
Officers would be immediately fired and charged with destroying evidence for turning off their bodycam during an encounter
If they turned off their bodycam any charges against any CITIZEN they were arresting would be dropped (IDGAF about illegals. That's a different category)
Obtaining that body camera footage should also be a very quick and easy process. Any attempts by LEOs to stop citizens from getting the body camera footage should carry obstruction charges
officers, departments, and the state should be financially liable and sued anytime they step out of line and abuse this to promote a policy of transparency and avoid misuse.
Police departments and cops rarely police each other. The thin Blue line and the fraternal culture leads to a lot of abuse. (Cops rarely arrest other cops and disciplinary action against cops typically just ends up being a slap on the wrist or them moving departments) Police are extensively trained on how to circumvent your rights. This gives them another very powerful tool.
you've been posting for like 3 weeks. Calling OP names, calling me names, why are you here? You should log back in to reddit before you get your liberal feelings hurt. Soy boy
how many times do cops get shot? do some research. Read what I wrote. Not what you think.
Retard? lol. Don't be a name caller. Bitch ass baby. Howd that make you feel? Nah, was just playing with you. Happy new year anyway.
Cops who hate being recorded while doing illegal, unconstitutional searches or abusing an innocent person will abuse this law by walking up to anyone they see with a camera as a problem and force them back, then keep walking up to them untill they're 100 feet away.
It'll just give them 25 feet of freebie space at which point they'll push people further and threaten arrest for not complying. This is a bad idea, plain and simple

My concern is if a Democrat gets into office who’s in control of this area, how they would use this type of legislation.
End of the D party. Remember that. Q team and Trump haven’t dropped that nuke yet. They’re finished.
the right people must control us. they know best.
Lefties would get rid of the law as they are anti police. Say whatbunwant but I've lived where there was little law enforcement and it was a crime ridden shithole.
as a rule, mind you
I live in Polk County Fl. He's the sheriff here. He's amazing. Not gonna get away with stuff like you do in NY, CA, or any other libtard state. 25' is not that far away.
Polk County is based. But is it only for Polk County? I’m sorry the police are not our friends. But I know sheriff Grady is based.
I agree they are not our friend but they are needed in some instances. And people are becoming more and more brazen. It's a crazy worldwe live in now. We have to be careful. Everyone needs to be careful. Even the police.
U judge 100 percent on tje 5 percent bad apples. Those bad apples get their marching order from the liberal hive mind.
never said 100% are good cops
it's bad, imagine if the bird flu pandemic gets traction adn they try the lockdowns again. They going to arrest people that get within 25 foot of the cops trying to enforce the lockdowns?
white hats in the police forces just like in the military. done amd done. no more thinking about it.
Thats what we need. I did the job and never mistreated people. I once got questioned by a prosecutor for mirandizing a bad man 3 times. I want people to know their rights. If they legit bad then they get held accountable.
And what about when that jack boot thug police officer walks over to you and then makes an arrest for being within 25ft. You're gonna see it.
If they are like that they can do it REGARDLESS of laws
Now they've got yet another law to use to control citizens.
The rogue cops didnt need a law to control citizens.
anyway I just dont see how this is worse.
More laws to control the people never improves our freedom. The rogue cop is the one that respects the Constitution.
Yep. Hopefully we all have good police officers and sheriff's. Otherwise, we're all in trouble.
Nice joke
Here's hoping. Happy New Year. MAGA!
We know we don't for a fact so hope? More like we already know...
been out of prison (5) years done 2008. Was my fault. Never been pulled over since I came home. I obey the law now. I don't get messed with.
A lot of people in jail would say the same thing...that's a fact.
Funny where I live we don't have thig cops long. We have several who have been prosecuted for acting wrong.
yep, I think they try to keep doing right here in my neck of the woods. My uncle was the pervious sheriff. He let me learn my lesson and didn't interfere with what I did. Only met one asshoe cop. Hope to keep it that way. Those that are thug need a new profession. After some jail time
If u ain't in the way they wont give 2 shits. Plus they gotta prove the distance. .
I hate this. Cops will use it to keep citizen journalists and Cop-watchers from filming regular police encounters.

My phone has zoom amd i don't mind this law at all. If u ain't there to help stand the hell off.
Yeppers
Terrible law, helps police hide their corruption even more.
This is tyrannical,pure and simple.
they havettiwear cameras. Everyone around has a camera on their phone and will film any fuckery going on. They have the right to be protected.
Who's arguing any of that? Not me...
Are you arguing with yourself then?
Their cameras only catch what's in front of them, and I never said they don't have a right to be protected.
They are already protected retard, they can always arrest you for interference with an investigation.
You argue like a liberal emotional idiot.
you've been posting for like 3 weeks. Calling OP names, calling me names, why are you here? You should log back in to reddit before you get your liberal feelings hurt. Soy boy
I've never posted so nice lying cope faggot.
And I've been here for over 4 years, never been on reddit.
Lying to make yourself feel better? Poor baby needs to cope hard.

Incoherent rambling, you are one dumb motherfucker.

I dont know how strictly the distance wiill be enforced but just for perspective 25 feet is a tad over 8yards.
Less than the distance for a first down in Football.
Seems like any normal Iphone/Galaxy can zoom in and capture the details WITHOUT impeding officer or missing any relevant details.
Cops who hate being recorded while doing illegal, unconstitutional searches or abusing an innocent person will abuse this law by walking up to anyone they see with a camera as a problem and force them back, then keep walking up to them untill they're 100 feet away.
They already do that ......
At least this law gives specific guidelines that can be challenged/referenced should it becomes broken by law
It'll just give them 25 feet of freebie space at which point they'll push people further and threaten arrest for not complying. This is a bad idea, plain and simple
Dont see why this would make any ARSE cop more aggressive.
If anything it give the guys who want to be fair but who has to tow the line between that and safety concerns some guidelines.
Agree
Good! This makes perfect sense.
WTH? Impede? Let's go with assist.
Thin Blue Line Gang Rise!
Change that from (can be) aressested (to will) be aressested.
