Am I the only one that refuses to have my photo taken at the airport security checks now? I watch people and they all line up like sheep.

Nope, you're not alone. It's the principle of the matter for me. And if they already have my picture on my driver license then there's no reason to take it again.
I've been doing a solo TSA protest for 20 years or so now. Would welcome some company.
It ends when enough of us prioritize our freedom over our overseas vacation.
The body screening machine lets them see you naked. Kek! I just returned from visiting the Philippines, at 66 with less than ideal health I wanted to be there for my only grandchild's birthday, she turned 3 and I'd not yet met her. If you have a passport they have your picture anyways...
I always opt out of that machine and make them pat me down. They get annoyed they usually have to get someone to do it. Oh well, I'm annoyed too.
I went through the machine, and oddly they patted down 1 leg only.
I've seen that happen a lot actually, where they end up patting people down anyway.
I was transporting a firearm, they checked it in, wanted me to open it, filled out a bunch of paperwork, ID.
When I got to my destination they just handed it to me, no ID, no paperwork check, nothing.
I said to the security guy "don't you need my ID/paperwork? What if someone else tried to take my gun?"
He says "we knew it was you, everyone is tracked everywhere."
No one took my picture, not that I was aware of anyway.
If you have a drivers license, they already have your picture.
Then why do they want it again?
Assuming good intentions.
One could cross reference the picture on file with the picture they just took.
More easily allowing them to pick out someone with falsified Documents. Granted that’s explicitly assuming good/noble intentions behind it.
The real reason is anyone’s guess. Hell maybe it’s just for shits and Giggles and it doesn’t actually take a picture. They’ve just told everyone it does And it’s just a long running idiot test.
Yes but you only take it out and they look at it and compare its picture to your face and they hand it back to you.
Not the same process as easy board and facial recognition.
Not me.
shop at walmart or costco? They have cameras at the door now and you can see the green square on your face as you walk in. I live in a small city on the east coast of New Brunswick Canada, and it's been here for a few months now.
This stuff makes me so angry! Now Costco makes you scan your card at the door.
Wonder why they started doing that? Maybe people ended up at the cash register with a bunch of stuff to buy and weren't actually members. That's all I can figure. There are a lot of illegals and others that do shit like that.
I think it's just the start of the 'tracking' ; literally knowing everything you purchase.
I refuse
Here is a twist, It is not just at USA airports... They took pictures at the Philippines airport and transfer airports on the way to / from.
I-will always refuse , and yes it bothers me that people trip over themselves to comply !
I don't do it. I do, however, see hundreds of lemmings run right up gleefully and submit every time I'm at the airport.
I don’t fly but what happens if you refuse the pic?
At the moment I believe it is falsely optional. Because they are tracking you regardless of a facial scan at airports.
I always refuse. There is a sign saying you are allowed to refuse but everyone still compiles.
This actually may not be a bad idea when you go to vote.
I definitely agree. We need some form of ID for elections.
