Why not have call center in places like American Indian or Native American (not sure which is their preference) reservations where jobs are scarce? They could even train the younger generation to do tech support. Maybe Starlink should donate some services to support them versus Ukraine!
We donate to NAHA (Native American Heritage Association) and they were talking about the need for jobs on the reservations. A good corporate citizen should be looking into these kind of opportunities for OUR citizens
I am sick of call centers outside of the U.S. and you can barely understand the person speaking English. Likewise I am tired of hotel employees in the U.S. who speak zero English.
what if it just cost more to have them over there? Some regulatory tax charge paid to unskilled service labor overseas or something. if they had to pay the US government an extra 20 dollars a head per hour it would curb the call center labor while still leaving wiggle room for the higher salary positions that do work remotely in STEM fields.
What you gonna do with the call centers housed in India? That phone call you make and are connected to Rasheed is routed through India so I doubt your idea will see the light of day. I have noticed that the Indians who call me are arrogant POS's. They expect me to flop over and purchase whatever they are selling. When I tell them I have no money they are shocked and begin to badmouth me. Yea, they talk down to a potential customer. I guess they've not yet been taught "customer service". Oh well, I hope their company coffers turn up empty soon.
I usually get "Dave." I don't even bother anymore. I don't have the patience. Either my poor husband or daughter has to suffer through. I just go ballistic and nothing gets done.
We need fewer laws, this would make it illegal to open a business in another country. A Mc Donalds could not open anywhere outside of the US. That is an example of how badly thought-out laws with good intentions are turned against us later.
I used Mc Donalds as an example. How about Trump, or as you said any American based company cannot have anything in another country. And you said nothing about any tax, you said the employees must be in America. The only way to open in another country would have to have robots and no humans.

If it cost companies equal or less money to have the phone banks it the USA, they would do so.
Maybe a smart company would factor in happy customers as a major part of its business plan.

Just speak in an even more foreign tongue to deal with this BS.
Perhaps you'll be passed onto an American citizen who speaks fluent English after a few minutes of speaking gibberish...
It should be made more expensive to hire from outside the country.
Maybe a tarrif?

Someone diddent liek my dreat, dey dit a down dooty dank yuh kamagin
This is ALREADY IN major B2B contracts on US soil from largest international banks. In the DEI "less Whites" section, it stipulates...
Why just no programmers in Germany in a USA international contract? Why just Germany? I don't know.
except they always say there name is steven or patrick or some shit in the thickest accent..
I can't resist answering, "If your name is Steven, my name is Mahatma Gandhi." Sadly, these are not long conversations.
I usually get "Dave." I don't even bother anymore. I don't have the patience. Either my poor husband or daughter has to suffer through. I just go ballistic and nothing gets done.
Their names are never Rakesh- it's James or Steven.... SURE....

I kind of don't mind that ramification. Fewer laws doesn't exclude this particular law from being a good idea imo
If McDonalds wants to branch all over the world and become a globalist company they can pay the damn FET tax.

I don't give a shit what Trump's businesses will suffer for it either. I bet he would agree with me.
I very much doubt Trump would make doing business outside of the US, further eroding our rights. He wants to get our rights back not take more away.
