Why not have call center in places like American Indian or Native American (not sure which is their preference) reservations where jobs are scarce? They could even train the younger generation to do tech support. Maybe Starlink should donate some services to support them versus Ukraine!
We donate to NAHA (Native American Heritage Association) and they were talking about the need for jobs on the reservations. A good corporate citizen should be looking into these kind of opportunities for OUR citizens
I am sick of call centers outside of the U.S. and you can barely understand the person speaking English. Likewise I am tired of hotel employees in the U.S. who speak zero English.

Some regulatory tax charge paid to unskilled service labor overseas or something. if they had to pay the US government an extra 20 dollars a head per hour it would curb the call center labor while still leaving wiggle room for the higher salary positions that do work remotely in STEM fields.

We need fewer laws, this would make it illegal to open a business in another country. A Mc Donalds could not open anywhere outside of the US. That is an example of how badly thought-out laws with good intentions are turned against us later.
