Same. I truly don't get what's going on.
Greenland came out of no where and was instantly accepted as if this was a long time coming or something.
Same with Canada. The immediate acceptance i just don't get.
I could make a case on greenlands resources, or military usefulness, but why not slap a military base and maybe a resources deal with the government?
If we annex Canada we instantaneously give voting rights to people who 70% support permanent gun bans (80%+ for "assault" rifles) and are leftists. Additionally single payer would have a ton more votes. Additionally we pick up what is probably millions of their "dreamers"
We need to recognize that we have fundamental value differences even with Canada.
I just can't fathom how Hillary Clinton's north America plan is somehow maga.
We have a Space Base already in Greenland (used to be called Thule Air Force Base)

I'm OK with making Greenland a territory.
I agree with you about Canada. We are such a mess ourselves, I don't want us adding to that mess by taking on Canada at least not at this time (sorry Canadian frens)
Yeah I'm initially much more receptive about greenland, though I lean slightly against it (very against Canada annexation though).
Trump keeps saying [greenland] it's for national security. I don't know why but it makes me feel like another country is fucking around with or in greenland.
If it was any other president my guess would be a resource grab.
The annexation talk was so left field to me, completely has thrown me for a loop.
I chuckle at the "51st state" remarks but I do not want to see it come to fruition.
I'll see if I can find sauce but I think China is in Greenland already
it's because we're not done sorting the wheat from the tares...still a lot of fair-weather patriots out there.
Q and DJT are absurd for a reason; to see Who follows their various tangents.
have been a lot of cycles like this over the last few years.
I guess where I'm struggling is I'm having a hard time seeing what the intended result is supposed to be.
I definitely agree. This one just feels different, and I'm having trouble rectifying it.
The only thing I've been able to come up with is this potentially ousts Hillary Clinton-esque people that wanted a borderless north America and then they can play whack a mole. But I'm not sold on it, at least yet.
Yes but I can't fathom how people even on this site don't get that Donald Trump wants no part of actually annexing Canada, that he is merely positioning, posturing, and negotiating.
He doesn't want tens of millions of additional mind-warped liberals being his "countrymen"
Amen.
Hey could you expand on what the end goal is here? I'm just not understanding the play here.
If you think what he says is negotiating, then I'm a chinese monkey!
Got round eyes, or more like – – ?
First of all as a Canadian you are insulting. There is not 70% of the people for gun bans there are not 70% of the people who are liberal which is your democrat.
The conservatives were in charge for a good part of my life thats when life was good. In the election it was so so so close which means half the people are conservative not liberal. Not to mention Trudeaus election was the first time those dominion machines were used so they likely cheated anyway.
Today 75% would vote conservative not liberal. I knew how bad the liberals were going to be Im old enough to have been here for a lot of elections. But the liberals get in every few years because a new group of people are now old enough to vote and they have no idea what they are voting for. Same as you will have once your genz and the newest generation are old enough to vote you will be fighting again.
If the vote for PM was almost 50% than that means half the country is conservative and the voting turn out was low. Only 60% of the eligible voters voted, the same for the last time. I can guarantee you the other 40% that did not vote are almost all conservative because liberals always vote.
I am honestly getting sick of people saying Canada is all leftist we are not.
I went up to Vancouver a few years back and really thought I had landed in China by mistake. No kidding! I didn't see a Canadian person until the next midday - none at the hotel - and I asked him where all the Canadian people were and he said "replaced". Why in the world would we take on another country's problems when we haven't even started on our own. This is all crazy! I'm feeling like I'm in the twilight zone.
