I have not seen this level of patriotism in Canada in probably 20 years. People are rallying behind purchasing Canadian products, supporting Canadian art etc.
The result of this will be that we are going to unite against Trudeau at the polls after we realize all the shit he is the cause of, and how bad our life has been under him.
There's no way Trump doesn't care about us, he may just be forcing us to take a Canada First approach and save ourselves. Which will only strengthen North America.
Same for Mexico.
Worst case, the economy collapses in both countries, and he gets the territories at a fire sale price.
It's a win, win.
Please though... don't let this end in war or famine. As a Canadian, I am honestly worried.
Step 1: Piss off Canada
Step 2: Piss them off some more.
Step 3: Continue pissing off Canada. They have finally taken their collective heads out of their asses to actually read more than the headlines and agreeing with media talking points.
Step 4: Canadians finally give a small shit about their own country instead of some other place for more than 10 minutes.
Step 5: Canadians are in shock when they realize the Liberals = CCP.
Step 6: Canadians go back into hibernation by sticking their heads up their asses again while singing God Save the Queen.
I'm Canadian and 100% this is my prediction. DO NOT take in Provinces OR this Country. Mostly Sheep. Take in PEOPLE of your choice!
Canadians must get away from the state run/funded media.
Everyone I know up there is adamant and convinced that they know everything about everything. It's really something to see.
But what they actually know is what they are being told to think.
Try to tell them otherwise and watch out!
To answer your question, yes.
Fuck no to Mexico. If Mexico becomes part of the U.S, you will have the same language problems as Canada.
Thats why we wqn5 Canada and let Quebec be it's own country. We won't have any of those language problems anymore
Or, we could impose English on Quebec.
Canada will never go hungry my fren.
Dump the crown and we’ll talk...
Holding Canadians accountable because they are hostage of the government and monarchy doesn't seem fair right now.
Governments only exist with the consent of the governed. Canadians get what they've decided to tolerate.
Canadians don't have our history and expectation of personal sovereignty. They have had royals lording it over them. It would take a brief moment of adjustment.
Eh... Tell that to China, fren.
Governments only exist with consent when they don't have an armed populace who are willing to shoot anyone who infringes on their "god given" rights (also known as negative rights in philosophy).
They easily exist without consent if the population has no true way to overthrow said government without being tienamin'ed into the dirt.
Christoforou explained and ocmpared the Mexican and Canadian reactions.
Being a son of a diplomat, Alex reckons that one should never go all in, when investing in a stock. One should always spread one's investments. Only reserve that 100% conviction for one's family. The same counts for foreign policy. Keep negotiating, and don't 100% cut someone off. Don't go all in on something, try it out softly first.

I don't know if that always works in practice, but not escalating seems sane. Come to think of it, If Trump imposes a tariff, I'd say feel free to match that figure. That's not escalation. Just matching. So, the Mexican approach is to impose matching tariffs, but to also give in to some 'demands', so as to de-escalate the situation.
Himself in Canada, thinks that he should escalate, just saying. But then, a matching tariff would result in a net outflow of money to the USA, as Canadians import way more from the USA than they export. I'd say they have to re-think what they can make at home from the resources they have. THe toilet paper story demonstrates it perfectly: Trees = wood-pulp biproduct, if one mills the trees for lumber. Semding whole logs overseas is insanity. Do that, and you lose the ability to make toilet-paper. Now you are importing it. That's not how economy works, whomever thought of that.
As for Canada, there are some fundamental issues that are magnified by factors that are beyond one's control. People have similar issues all over the world, such as speaking multiple languages, or rapid growth from certain sectors in the economy, which acentuates side-industries catering for men wanting to blow off steam. One cannot have a normal town around such enclaves, but what is one to do? And much as it is really cheesy to mention the weather, Canada's Building Codes are waay more stringent, JUST to combat the cold. I think those codes are luxuriously amazing compared to what happens in other countries, BUT it just makes living in such houses an utter luxury. There is no longer any common sense available to anyone.
The angle I am coming from is because I divested myself from the housing market years ago, and lived in a bus for a good bit, very comfortably, to literally ride out a crash. Yet, I would quake at the thought of doing that in Canada. There is no excape route for those locked into a mortgage in a falling market, if the economy crashes around one's ears, unless one were a survival expert.
Do a bunch of yooz nothern hosers want sovereignty, eh?
Canada is full of things to eat. Learn to hunt. Learn to fish. Start a garden.
Canadian media will ramp up the propaganda trying to keep the fake narrative.
The Mexicans can keep Mexico. The Canadians can keep Canada. Neither country can offer the U.S. much, if anything, in the way of tangible goods that we can't already source and produce ourselves. Just get your damned leaders and countries in order like we're attempting to do here and EVERYONE wins. Why we always have to be the country to show the world how it's done is beyond me. It's like we're the only adult in a town full of unruly teenagers.
