If anyone from President Trump's team reads this board, could someone look into what's going on with the postal service?
We're getting mail delivered as late as midnight some days. Sometimes they won't bother showing up for several days and then you'll get everything stuffed into the box when they finally do show up.
The mail has been getting progressively worse for years. But lately, it's really awful. Who delivers mail at midnight???
We need to get back to the Constitution and have a Postal Department and Patent Office again.
Patents need to be blockchained and uncontrolled by the central government.
Actually both the PO and the patent office are owned by Britain, always have been. Can't give you a source but it's been well-known for years.
Ooh - sounds like DoGE should put them on their radar. I agree they are getting worse and worse.
I thought they only made deliveries at midnight to election headquarters.
Lots of good mailmen have retired due to conditions beyond their control. I was one of those folks. I had been a postmaster early in my career and I wanted to wind down in a small town. Well a new postmaster had been installed just before I transfered into that office and from day one it went down hill. The postmaster had not come from the rank and file, she hadn't earned her position by being the best or brightest, but on the fact that her husband had been a Postal Inspector. This allowed her to take any available office and she took this one. Well since she had no experience and I did she was at ill ease with me because I understood where her deficiencies layed. Yes, she was a great secretary, but a lousy manager. This is what is common in the Postal Service. Unqualified people put into positions of authority and expected to enact the policies of a DEI driven agenda. Lots of employees just said, "screw it, I'm out!". And what is left is folks literally picked off the streets without having to take a test for proficiency or aptitude. If President Trump can replace the Postmaster General and the Board of Governors then some positive changes can happen within the USPS. d Until then there will be continual mail delivery delays. Get used to it, for I have seen it with my own two eyes. My W-2 should have been postmarked in Bentonville Arkansas, yet it was postmarked in a different city on January 31, 2025. I received that W-2 on February 4, 2025. The different city is only 40 miles from my house. Why did it take four days for this letter to travel forty miles? Yea, it's a nationwide problem and President Trump can fix it easily. Just be patient because other things are taking priority right now.
100% agree, the USPS needs to be on the DOGE radar biggly.
As a customer, I can venture an answer. The leadership at USPS is totally incompetent and they have no reason to be competitive as long as the federal spigot flows.
It's time to eliminate or totally privatize the damn thing, it's too far gone to save. Don't complain about midnight delivery, at least you had some mail dropped off,, lol. Not always the case in my experience.
They definitely need to be on the radar. I noticed they are delivering sometimes around 8 pm. Makes no sense.
What about the payments you put in the mail only to find out it takes 30+ days to arrive!!
I've got a package that left TX on 1/21. Took a week to get to Indianapolis, and it's been stuck there due to "weather" ever since.
I could have driven to TX and back a dozen times myself in that time.
And unless a volcano erupted in Indianapolis, what kind of weather has interrupted their service to this extent.
BTW, the package is probably a shipping envelope...
I was just thinking about how extra screwed up USPS seems lately and then I saw your post! We have been waiting on a package for a while, that is supposedly “in-transit”. But the stranger part, other than the delay, is the path the package is taking when we look at its’ tracking info.
The package shipped from IL, went to Charleston WV (we live in WV). Then it left WV?? And it traveled to York, PA (eastern side of PA), then to Pittsburgh, PA and then Warrendale, PA (western side of PA) … now today the 5th it has arrived back in Charleston, WV … but it isn’t scheduled to arrive to us until Feb. 9th.
I would say that this is probably the least efficient delivery route ever. Why waste their time checking packages in and out of shipping centers that don’t even belong there? Sorry rant over lol, but I’d be VERY interested in DOGE taking a look into the other areas of inefficiency at USPS. If they can’t even drive a vehicle filled with boxes to a specific location, I would imagine their finances are a disaster.
Lots of mail is delivered by contractors.
sounds as if amazon has taken over mail delivery. kek
And the postal rates for ordinary citizens are outrageous!
I sent a priority letter from Ohio to Ca. It took 2 weeks to get there.
Extra Inspections??
Its fucking garbage. Like 4 different post people. They delivered a bunch of my shit to asshole thief neighbors too. Cocksuckers every one kf them. hope they all get fired and the shit is privatized.
I recently saw a video from a postal worker showing the conditions inside a mail office. They had a huge back up of mail, literally semi trucks parked next to each other all full of mail. He was saying some of the mail was two months old.
USPS is worthless and needs doge'd to hell and back. I have an unhealthy pet peeve with them and will berate them every chance I get.
Me too I mailed something to my friend for Christmas. It went missing for almost 2 weeks. It mysteriously showed back up, and she finally received the package very very late. Weird.
We have two (Indian?) foreign women who can barely speak English manning our desks at the local USPS. The USPS is the worst at delivering the mail and packages must be picked up at the local PO. Because they won’t drop them off at the house like FedEx and UPS.
I lost one month of packages I ordered when I showed delivered and one no update for a week
