This is an excellent book that explains how our money system works. It's a fun easy read.
Ever wonder where money and capital actually comes from?
Want to know how to figure out what's actually worth something vs just nonsense backed only by hype and belief it's worth something? (Beanie babies, BTC, currency etc)
If you always had an interest in gold and silver, but were confused about it, I would also recommend watching this excellent series by Mike Maloney, which discusses the history of money, currency, and precious metals. It's rated G, is very entertaining and a nice thing to watch during family time.
That first comic is really good (I'm about halfway through it). Just very basic economics that most people never learned or don't understand.
I recall arguing with one person who thought that if the government took all the assets of billionaires, that would pay the national debt with money to spare. I argued that it might pay for about 1 months worth of government spending, and then where would the next month's spending money come from, since the billionaires would be poor and not paying taxes? People have no idea how much 1 trillion is, let alone 20 or 30 trillion.
This is a simple, well done, entertaining and informative book that's easily digestable by even a second grader...
I've found there to be a direct correlation between those who are employees their entire lives vs business owners AND people's understanding of where money actually comes from and how to generate your own capital by using the ONLY 2 things worth ANYTHING across the entire face of the earth:
Things that come out if the ground
Skilled Labor
Everything else is worthless bullshit. Bar none. Believing differently, doesn't actually change these facts.
They usually suck because they revere Keynes but it's the paradigm we live in, but headed for a singularity.
Your statement about money remind me of what my Dad would always tell me growing up that "gold is money and everything else is credit". I just looked it up and it also comes from JP Morgan... ew!
I've always been an employee, but I would not dispute that. It's all about using resources to create a product of more value than the cost of producing it.
Politicians, on the other hand, make laws which are mostly worthless and most often used to enhance their personal wealth, or simply for legalized theft - looking at you, carbon credits.
That's why the founding fathers eschewed politicians as a profession. As we've seen, at best they are simply a group of professional thieves, at worst a bunch of traitors, criminals, degenerates, blackmailers, and thieves. People with successful careers and a clean history need to be the ones putting in a term or two once they are in a position to take time out for it. Same for all the staffers - make it worth skilled peoples time to take on a temporary job, rather than being the permanent pawns maintaining the status quo.
People have no idea how much 1 trillion is, let alone 20 or 30 trillion.
That’s always amazed me.
Let’s just say it’s 1.2 trillion (ah, those were the days). That’s 100 billion a month. So if Billy-boy is worth 20 Billion, seizing ALL his assets, “which are now no longer productive” (as if they ever were, damn parasite) pays 1/5 of ONE month.
“Now what, Einstein?”
It’s so bad that it’s hard to not suspect they’re actually thinking something completely different from what they’re saying in their head, and are just trying to figure out some lie to get everyone to agree to confiscate themselves into oblivion.
Q4541
Biblical: the children of light and the children of darkness. The children of light constitute the most conspicuous part of humanity, while the children of darkness represent an absolute minority.
Most people are gullible to emotional arguments. They have struggles, which are real, and those are used against them to get a desired outcome. Sounds cliche', but few people are willing to make small sacrifices over a long period of time to accomplish a goal. So they are vulnerable to the promise of a short term solution and/or a perceived establishment of fairness and equity (this might not make me wealthy, but then you won't be either). Which leads to the point that most people can't think for themselves and are encouraged not to - so why isn't there a free lunch for everyone?
We've been brainwashed into being kind to our enemies while they are cruel to the helpless and innocent. There's a difference between being kind towards those who are personal enemies, and being kind towards (i.e. tolerating) evil and allowing evil to harm the innocent. I believe we are to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means evil people must be kicked off the planet. If those who have suffered are ever going to heal, their tormentors must be punished and permanently removed from society.
I don't know how else to say it, but it's not going to be easy being the one to punish these evil doers. What they have done is so cruel, so wicked, and so evil, that having to see it to judge it and put a stop to it is going to require people with kind hearts with love for the helpless and no tolerance for allowing the evil to continue. Otherwise there is the risk of going too far and losing some our humanity and civilization.
I mean peaceful and kind, not with regard to the people doing the evil, but with regard to the idiots who refuse to look at it, and even there my patience is wearing thin.
Same fren. Tired of arguing with people who think criminals are misunderstood, need help, and got a bad rap. Those are all true, but without justice, there is no hope for our country. Justice first, and then we'll see who can be helped.
Also, I agree with Trump exonerating those who were put away for a long time for petty crimes. I think the DS did that to destroy lives and create angry mobs. People know when the punishment is fair, and when it's not.
"argued that it might pay for about 1 months worth of government spending, and then where would the next month's spending money come from, since the billionaires would be poor and not paying taxes?"
Great song - like so many that were new when some of us were young.
But I feel they are wrong about taxing the rich into oblivion. That just removes the incentive to produce wealth and provide jobs to those who would struggle or be unable to sell their skills to others. When JFK pushed the tax cut of 1964 (top marginal rate was 90%) the economy took off after it passed. So did inflation, but that was controlled by the Fed and the DS. If we've learned anything from Q, the Vietnam was started to kill economic growth and cull the youth of the nation.
I remember reading this 40 years ago and never forgot it.
I went to a top rated primary/high school and aside from a short discussion about Andrew Jackson vs Central Banks in History class, that was the extent of anything related to money...
How are economies screwed? Don’t have to look far. There was another Schiff running Wall Street along with buddies Warburg, Kuhn & Loeb at the turn of the 20th century. Within that period the world experienced massive upheavals: rise of Marxism, the Federal Reserve, World War 1 & 2, Great Depression…. the effects are still ongoing to this day.
So the question is not really how or why, but (((who))) is/was behind all of this?
Btw, isn’t Irwin’s son Peter still around and giving out financial ‘advice’? 🙄
Charlie Kirk cam bring some to Congress and Senate. Just like he brings 3rd grade level Constitution books to the colleges he goes to ( because 3rd grade comprehension is the average for a college kid on the Constitution)
Another fantastic resource that I recommend a lot including to homeschoolers is the Uncle Eric series by Richard Mayberry. He wrote it with middle and high schoolers in mind but it's really great for adults too. It's a collection of eleven paperbacks written in the format of an uncle answering the questions of his nephew. It turned my liberal son into a Juris Naturalist. (I made it a requirement for graduation and he later thanked me.) He is little bit more moderate these days but no regrets. This will stay with him for the rest of his life. It makes the difficult to understand easy to understand. If you look it up, you can read the reviews for yourself. It covers economics, investment, and how history and geo politics affect economies in a very readable easy format.
This is great! Tha k you for sharing it. I need to track down their other books now.
The series, "The Tuttle Twins", is a based & amazing series on how economics works & why government needs to stay small geared towards young readers. I strongly recommend those books to all parents & grandparents to gift their children.
Irwin Schiff is Peter Schiff’s dad, and did jail time for some of the things he spoke on IIRC.
Given that Adam seems to be tied to Jacob, and Irwin and Peter are also named Schiff and in the money realm, I’ve looked for a link, but never found one.
Doesn’t mean it’s not there, but there’s no known indicators of it, and they seem to be fully at odds behaviorally and philosophically.

The Hidden Secrets of Money Series is an essential watch.
Money across the ages is discussed... and why all currencies fail.
Here's the book, dictated. Listens well @ 1.5x speed:

Yes... Books on Economics typically suck.
This is a simple, well done, entertaining and informative book that's easily digestable by even a second grader...

I'll expand this thought to:
"Things that come out of or from the ground and water."
Don't want to discriminate against water... LOL

Zat better? 😁
If it works for you, then yeah!!! 🤔😂🤣🤣
Thanks for actually reading 😁

Make Tar & Feathering Great Again!!!
Early politicians FEARED getting yanked out, tarred and feathered...

Yes....
It's funny when you spell out: 53 BILLION is the exact same thing as saying 53,000 MILLION

The more HONK! things go, the less inclined I am to believe that in patience, and instead shift to dusting off my sandals.
It’s one thing to acknowledge and fail through lack of self-control or failing to see a transitional path, it’s another thing to deny reality.
Then again, the optics of the presenter matter, so maybe I’m just not peaceful and kind enough.

Wow! Irwin Schiff dies in prison for not paying illegal income tax. He had undiagnosed skin cancer that spread to his lungs.
He has written quite a few of these books. They are apparently only available used for big bucks.
Yes. An oldie but goody.

Every single time.
I think Peter did one called, How economies grow and crash - Pretty sure you can find it if you search on Yandex etc.

I was just reading reviews on, The Clipper Ship Strategy and it sounds like a great resource!
You're welcome! You won't regret reading it. I'm pretty sure they can be read out of order but there is a suggested order.
Very interesting, still haven’t finished it but it very promising
You can learn this from most idle games where you start out with a small lemonade stand and end up with an empire

(Schiff)?
Are we judging a book by its cover? 🤔
Irwin Schiff is Peter Schiff’s dad, and did jail time for some of the things he spoke on IIRC.

[They] really seem to hate Peter’s guts, too.
Schiff is a very popular name in the Northeast part of the country.
I've personally known at least 5 different "Schiffs" that were completely unrelated to one another, AFAIK.
You aren't going to find many Schiffs in the Bible Belt for instance...
Just like anybody else...some are good people and others are just Schiff for brains. Welcome to Earth.
