Timing is everything.
Trump was never in any real danger during the trial.
But now it looks like there is an op running to rein in judicial overreach, corruption and legislating from the bench. Elons latest suggestion of a legislative review every year of Article III Judges with the bottom 1% being fired, points exactly towards an op of this nature being run. I suggested such in a thread earlier this morning regarding Paul A. Engelmayer.
The irony is exquisite.
In our state, often liberal judges retire before their term is over snd another liberal is appointed. Judges must be attorneys, so attorneys very seldom will run against a sitting judge because they will need to face them in court. Plus, it’s hard to know a judge’s positions, politics, and previous decisions. So there is a huge undervote in judicial races. Maybe we need better transparency / education /reform in judicial campaigns.
State Judges arent the worry. They can be voted out. Its the Federal Article III Judges that are the threat. They serve lifetime appointments.
