-20 to -30 here for the last month. Furnace and boiler running constantly.
In floor heat
Heated garage
Built this big house 20 years ago when cheap to build. Can no longer afford to live in it. Our "40-year" shingles need replacing. Last quote was $34,000.
Fark.
Mine was $290, usually it's around $220. I feel for ya, especially with all the stupid surcharge. They should be included in the price of the fuel(probably are but the company wants to double dip)
You have it way better than us. We are heated by hydro our bill this month was $599 only $327 of that was actual hydro used the rest was Trudeaus carbon tax.
Time to make home made gas. Natural gas in liquid form is basicly gasoline. In other words collect gasoline vapors and enrich and you will have a gas you can cook and heat with.
Yes room needed and a few pieces of equipment but cost will be less than $500.
I have made the cook gas and are working on condensing under 2lbs pressure into a gas potent enough to get piped into the regulator then into a spare forced air furnace.
Not rocket science guys. Give it a go, net is full of ideas
You have to add in the delivery charge of $57. That is the cost of the distribution network to get the gas to you. But still, your $121 of gas and delivery is costing you $276.
I can understand getting tired of living that way, but it does sound like a cool job🐸
Burn wood
This.
Sorry America got its own problems. It is not North America first it is America first. But I do feel your pain.
Outrageous!
Disgusting blatant theft by the civil service mafia.
Go find an old coal mine.
Load up your pickup full of coal left behind when they closed the mine.
Buy a pot belly stove with a cooking burner on top that vents to outdoors.
Load that old stove full of coal and light it.
Enjoy warmth and ability to cook food free of charge.
Our gas bill was $800 last month. In Edmonton.
WHAT?!!! How do people pay that? Is Edmonton an exclusive millionaire enclave?

Your carbon tax fee is higher than my highest month natural gas bill.
edit: I take that back. Accounting for currency exchange, my largest bill this year was about 86 cad.

Canada is cooked. Billions of immigrants rely on you.
