As a federal gov't (DoD) employee...I'm TOTALLY on board with this, and will craft this for my "ultimate" boss (SECDEF) but also CC my direct boss. My direct boss has major "resistance" issues with the current SECDEF and current POTUS, but that's HIS issue...and not mine. I'm more than happy to report my progress to my upchain.
1 thanks for being an honest working American! I am not govt. employee but for the company I work for I fill out a. list of tasks completed every week.
I appreciate your appreciation, fren....but I'm not looking for kudos. I'm getting ready to end my time in the federal gov't and I feel that I've definitely put my time in. I've really tried to be a good supporter (and spender!) of your tax dollars, all of you. In any event...TY for your kind words, and I promise you all...I will finish strong. ;)
This comment is not for you, but for your government peers
We--meaning the rest of the non-government work force--think those of you complaining about a 5 bullet points email are absolutely absurd, childish people throwing an absolute toddler-tier tantrum. You're embarrassing yourselves. And you're proving the maga people and really the rest of the world that you don't deserve your 'plum' job.
The rest of us have to do performance reviews routinely. This is expected. How could you expect an employer NOT to do routine checks on the performance of their employees? You're actually validating everyone else who ridicule the public sector employees with comments like "in at 10, out at 3" and "sits in the basement rubber stamping and collecting a check"
I have no problem with accountability. And I'm more than happy to tell my bosses what I'm working on and what I'm spending my time on and encouraging them to direct me where I should be spending my time, but my job now is getting down to the hour, "I need you to account for each hour of the day". This is getting difficult in a salaried position.
I'm honestly starting to ask. Why do I have to tell you what I'm working on? Why aren't you telling me what I should be working on? Does the directive not come from the top? Shouldn't the boss direct what the worker works on?
Seems the purpose is to validate your existence. Those who do not respond will be considered nonexistent employees and removed from the employment roster.

Pulse check---are you there? How many are FAKE employees and WHO is cashing their checks?
And if Iβm to busy with my day time job of 40 hours a week and I havenβt look at my .gov email in months then what (never said a Gov employee
Makes a better case for it than Elon.
Go Pete! Cleaning out the sewer is nasty but needed.
Transparency is accountability.
