Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

Ok, so any nutrition otaku, need your input
Where do you stand on d3?
I am on a Facebook group (group name secosteroid hormone D if you want to read it) which is very anti d3 supplementation
They have tons of research, tons of documents, it seems pretty well thought out. Pretty much, the argument is that d3 in any form except for sunlight is poison and pretty much a direct cause of disease
This goes against the position of the medical industry, but also a lot of the wellness sphere, there are tons of nutrition and supplement experts who consider d3 vital. In fact, d3 is also part of the Z protocol and several other anti covid or anti cancer regimens that are popular amongst anons and the MAHA scene
So where do you stand? Curious to see what our own health experts think. I almost wish I could send this to RFK but I know he is a busy man
"Sunlight is the best disinfectant."
I agree sun is best but not sure about supplements being toxic, I’ll have to look into that. I have recently heard that if you get enough sun in warmer months it can sustain you through winter, which I also had never heard.
I take high dose d3 weekly, 50,000-60,000 units. My levels had dropped into the teens, even though I was spending a lot of time outside, in the sun. The d3 for 3 months brought it up to about 31. When I quit, the numbers fell again, but my doc refused to prescribe again, thought I should be "well". I told my rheumatologist about it, and he said he would give me the prescription. He said the store-bought low doses would be useless to me. His studies showed that some people could not raise their d3 levels on their own anymore. He didn't know why. This was at least 8-10 years ago, so not about covid. When I forget to take them, I notice my brain is not processing information very well, slows down noticeably.
I like getting d3 from eating fatty fish, but on occasion in winter I will take a capsule or gel cap of d3 with k2 or just a d3 with grass fed butter for the k2.
I think d3 toxicity can happen when there’s no k2 involved. A naturopath doctor recommended a little D3 a few years ago in winter.
The one place I do not stand is in the sun, I have a very bad UV sensitivity, it's an autoimmune thing, and I do need to take it. When I was first prescribed it, it did wonders for my energy level, I guess I was deficient.People of the north did have a sun deficit, but they also ate enormous amounts of fats, the livers of animals, and fish, so they got enough, the southern peoples speak for themselves, an abundance of outdoor sunshine. I will continue to take mine as I am fresh out of seal liver.
