Arrests are dependent on having well-organized evidence, and trials are dependent on having evidence the defense can't claim is tainted. Releasing all the files/evidence now would greatly jeopardize any trials.

Maybe thats what those "ufo" drone squadrons were lookign for. Its really hard to hide nukes from a close up scan - sufficient nuclear material to explode is going to put out radiation that requires a lot of water to block, and even more lead if they can't use water. And even if 100% of the radiation is blocked theres still the unblockable neutrino emissions that can penetrate earth itself, if a few more of those were detected (over the global background) in a certain area they would at least have an idea of where to start looking.
